I'm new to all this, and apart from a couple of recommendations I've had from a friend (hellooooo Julia), I wonder if people could advise me of good places I can buy supplies online please? Particularly UK based, but I'm happy to buy elsewhere if necessary. I'm keen to find some different patterns, I particularly like bears with HUGE feet and cute little fuzzy faces!

I've got no idea what prices things should be, so I don't know what I should be expecting to spend really. I've just bought some synthetic fur to have a go, to see if it's ok to work with, but know mohair is really the way to go.

I also wondered if people could recommend some good books for learning, reference and inspiration please?

Sorry if all this kind of stuff has been asked before, or even if I'm in the wrong place! I looked about but couldn't find anything so far...

thanks in advance

Hi Teri, if you look in the library (next to the wee smiley with the waving arms above) there's all sorts of things like this been covered before.  I'm not entirely with what you're trying to create, but the following places I know do kits - Bear Basics, Christie and Emmary Bears in the UK, Beary Cheap in Oz, and Intercal, our site sponsor, in the US.  Between them, they should have what you're looking for  bear_original

Not sure if this link will work, but there are many suggestions for good bear-making books in a thread called: best teddy book (You can use the search function to find it if this doesn't work): http://www.teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=38335
