Amazing video of an orangutan. He loves to wash his face.
The way he wrings out that washcloth! (A close cousin, for sure.)

ohhh i love it thanks for sharing
He is so deliberate in his actions. The was he wrings the cloth and wipes his face and arms. If you could just attach a human body to those hands I don't think you would ever know they were an animal making those movements.

That is just spooky; I do exactly the same thing.
I also loved the way he wrings out the cloth and at the end of the clip he even starts wiping down the surface of the stones (where the other orangutan had sat ). (so I am wondering if it is a "he" after all
).
Thanks SueAnn!

HA ha, Peter! I thought the same . . . IT surely is a neat freak . . . washed her/his face three+ times.
(so I am wondering if it is a "he" after all ).
Thanks Sue Ann for sharing this link showing a FEMALE orangutan. Orangs are so like humans, I have spent many, many hours studying their behaviour. One time I watched a ten year old female orangutan open a bottle of orange juice, turn the lid upside down and proceed to pour juice into the lid before drinking from it. This was repeated over and over until her thirst was satisfied. Then the orangutan then opened five strawberry yogurts and ate them with a spoon. On another occasion the same orang opened cartons of fruit juice by pushing straws into the cartons and then handed the out to the younger orangs in her bedroom. The young orangs all drank through the straws, one found if you squeeze the carton you have a fruit juice squirter.
so funny.
Hugs, Jane.
That was so wonderful to watch, What a magnificent creature, so precise in the way he would wring out the rag. I thought the other one wanted a chance at it also , the first one wasn't giving up that wash cloth. Thanx for sharing.
