Hello:

I'm new to needle felting. I would like to needle felt an Anime-Style, Fuzzy Bear with a body texture that is similar to mohair. I have seen bears on-line that were crocheted and then brushed to make them fuzzy-looking.

Is it possible to do this to a needle-felted bear?

Thanks, Darlene

Yes, you can brush the needle felting out and then trim.  I use a metal finger brush.  Have to be careful not to pull too much up.  I root mohair into the bears needle felted faces.  I unravel it from the fabric and root it in with a needle.  That is pretty major work though especially on a whole animal.
