Hi
This maybe a really silly question but I just have no idea.
I am looking at making a rabbit and would love it if the ears could stand up or be posed but how do I do this ? Would I need to use wire and if so how do I attach it ?
I really am stumped so any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Paula x
If you're making a mini, you don't have to use wire to get the ears to stand up. But yes if you want them poseable, wire is needed. Just slip the wire armature inside the ear before you close it and catch the wire when you are attaching the ears.
Of course as with everything a little experimentation might be required to get the look you're after.
Thank you so much....I will be making a mini so I will maybe try without first (always try the easier option first!) and take it from there.
Thank you once again

If you are making a larger bear, Pipe cleaners are a good choice.
Hi Paula,
So everyone thinks rabbits ears have to point upwards! In that case have a look at this cuty (courtesy of Dutch Lop breeders association). There are a number of rabbit pedigrees that have hanging ears like this one. This one is a Dutch lop, with the fluffiest, dense and silky fur you can imagine. If you think this is a bit of a goofy character you're wrong because these creatures are vibrant and extremely active.
Anyway, if you'r making a rabbit of this type there's absolutely no need to have pipecleaners or whatever in your creatures ears
Good luck with your rabbit!
That is a beauty! I love the lops and would never want the ears standing up!
Hi
Love the pic and thank you for all your comments.
I decided not to do stand up ears in the end, maybe next time. Here is Toffee my very own lop earred rabbit.....
Hope you like him
