I've just bought some gorgeous curly black fur fabric (a bit like persian lamb) to make another bear and I was going to have black felt pawpads, but now I'm wondering if an all black bear will be a bit OTT.  Would it be better to have different colour pads?  What do you all think?  It's a pretty much standard teddy pattern, not a realistic type of bear.

I think I'd use a different color - maybe tan? Do you have a nose color in mind, yet? That's something you could match if you wanted to.

Can't wait to see the curly black bear!

I would also try to contrast with the nose and pads. Best of luck and be sure to share pics of your creation when finished!

You could choose a light grey, and use it for the inner ears also....
