Hi All,
I have just bought some tartan brushed cotton fabric that I want to use to make scarves for some of my bears one is a small check in purple and green the other is a larger check in black, white and orange the thing is I would like to "AGE" and distress the fabric before I use it, I know the edges will fray really well when I cut it but I would like to try a fade the colour a bit to make the scarves look old, any suggestions???????

Thank you.

You could try putting bleach on some areas of the fabric to take the color out.  I've also used sandpaper distress many different things.  Just don't rub so hard that you destroy the material.

Along with what Sue Ann suggested you could also add tea or coffee staining.
