Hi All,
I am about to start my first Alpaca Mohair bear, up till now I have only been using fake fur from my local craft store but I have took the plunge and bought some Alpaca Mohair from Gerry's.
I just thought before I start I should ask all you knowledgeable people out there if there is anything I should know about working with REAL fur????? Mainly because it is more expensive I am a bit afraid to start.

Good for you, Sheree! I think you'll love working with the alpaca. My only advice is to take time and care with trimming your seam allowances - not too much, and not too little. That will give you a really nice finish.

Sheree,
You will find it sooooo much easier to work with than what you have been using.  You will love it.  Just double check you have laid it out correctly and have all the parts before you cut.  Take a deep breath and take your  time cutting.  That is the hardest part is getting up the nerve to cut it out.  Once you have it cut out the worst is over so enjoy the alpaca.
I know I had fear of cutting into my first piece of expensive mohair when I first started.  You will do fine!

Measure twice.  Cut once.
