For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Hi all,
A few months ago some of my French teddy bear friends asked me to help them out with an award competition they were planning to organize.
Although at first I was a little reluctant (because there are already many competitions), I agree to participate, because teddy bear artistry and collecting in France isn't as popular as it is in the UK, Germany, Holland or the USA. This way we hope to promote the teddy bear in France as well.
Because it's the first time these awards are being organized, the rules are pretty simple: participation is totally free; you just have to send in your photographs. You will find all the details on the website: http://www.french-teddy-awards.fr/
Part of the judging will be done by public vote and part by a panel of expert judges: among others our own Becky Chase and Maria Colin!
(Well, they asked me to be in it as well, so there goes the "expert" part... )
We already have entries from more than 15 different countries, so if you feel like participating, you still have time until October 10th.
Good luck to all participants!
Hope you gets lots of interest Peter, and I think as a collector you must be an expert

Thanks Katy, I appreciate it!
Very interesting!
I was looking at the website today. A question Peter, it is not clear if one can enter an animal that was already into other competitions or not.
...I'm seriously thinking of giving it a try, it might be fun!
Francesca, on the website, there is a place to ask questions. (I haven't seen your question in the rules, so it's probably one for Bilitis, the main organizer, to answer.)
You are right, maybe it's better to ask the question there, it might be of interest for others as well! Thank you!
