Did anyone else pick up a yard of this stuff? ( I use this word as in 'Stoffe" meaning fabric-material) laughing-smiley-003.gif

Remember when Sue Ann shared a bear she made out of the sample the Intercal sent her.

I got a yard....it is absolutely the most beautiful.....the color is called honey tan but it picks up shades very pale apricot.

I did put it through a gentle wash with hair conditioner and it didn't hurt it at all.

If you haven't tried it you aught to take a look-see.  It is quite long.  But it is full and lucious.

I wonder if Sue Ann trimmed  around the joints, I decided I aught to because I could see it becoming a matted mess.

Anyway  when he has eyes a mouth and something to hold him in shape, namely some stuffing- I'll share him.  He is going to be simply lovely.....

I wonder ithere were any othe colors......

i will go look

Oh yes, Dilu . . . I got 2 yards of it!  Isn't it wonderful?  And yes, since it is looooong, I did trim where the joints were - otherwise, it's really hard to see the hole you poked with the awl.

Sounds great Dilu, can't wait to see your newest creation. bear_smile   bear_wub  Oh and I'm happy to stop talking about Christmas for awhile ,I'm not going to worry about it again until tomorrow.Schools out     just had massage therapy  bear_innocent and a piece of fudge.Okay two peaces but there was butterscotch and chocolate and I didn't want to make one feel left out   so I had  a piece of each  warmest hugs!!

Now if that isn't the best reason in the world for testing every piece of chocolate in the box.....can't have hurt feelings!

I will do that too.......

I hope Intercal keeps getting this fabric.  I think i want to pick up another yard, and silly me, I know Johnna mentioned 2 colors, but I don't remember the other color.  If it was black I need to get some of that too.....

I only have one leg stuffed, but his ears on on....and I did articulate him.  I have this picture in my head of he and a golly dancing together....Actually who I see dancing is Judi, but I can't have Judi so I guess I will use a golly girl.  Going from the sublime to the ridiculous.....yikes.....but I am going to work on a new golly girls pattern so that she as calves and when he dips re and she sticks out her leg it is shapely......

Sometimes my ideas are more than I can muster.....

But I think my little guy needs a black  tie, a cummerbund and maybe a jacket with tails....that way my golly girl can be dressed up fancy.

I was thinking Golly hair....but I could take Stephanies advice and try RIT, and let's be honest, gollies don't  wash their hair very often....

I should send Johnna and email and tell HER how great this fabric is....I am also thinking the mohair could be put into pin curls....damp it down etc.....

Sue Ann did you loose much when you brushed it?

Maybe Johnna's read this and I don't have to send an e-mail?

No, it didn't shed too much, Dilu.  Did you know that Intercal now has the black in??

Yikes!......oh now I really do want some more......but I daren't ask for more....maybe next month.

The laptop has been having problems and it has a 3 year warranty...but it would mean being without it for several weeks, so I have been putting off sending it in.....then the hubs told me that he ordered another computer-so that I could still stay hooked into my cyberlife and we could get this one fixed.

I feel like I have been showered with blessings and just can't ask for anything more-maybe I should sell a golly.....well there's a thought......

but this is probably a bad time of year for that too.....

I will just have to cross my fingers, and hope for the best.  Things always work out for the best.....

As for pics.....I will have something to share tomarrow......

I got some too!!!

I wondered about washing it. The backing is a bit stiff but this seems to be the norm with intercal's mohair. (Remember, I'm the Schulte (Edinburgh) snob!!! But I could change.... it's a woman's right!)

I'm going to make a wheaten terrier out of it and it's a bit darker in person than I'd like but I don't think there is much I can do about it. The Wheaten will be made in January.. it's a special order. Many of you saw the first one I made out of 3" stuff which I ended up trimming so much. I think this 2" will be perfect!

Dilu.. can't wait to see your bear!

Get the black!! Just a bit to start..... GO FOR IT!! Sell a golly! All those teddies folks are getting for Christmas are going to need a golly-friend!!
