Completely by chance, my latest bear seems to have a mustache!!! Of course I worked with that, because when opportunity knocks, why not?! I am wondering, does anyone have any tips for keeping the mohair going in a direction permanently? Would watering it down and then drying it in that position work?

Just wet it and blow dry it with a hair dryer.
