There are a lot of beautiful faces among them, but I hope you won't mind me saying that in my view, there were some awful ones as well.
I know that this is my personal taste (and you can't argue about tastes), but some of the "creatures" are a far cry from my concept of "teddy bear".   :(

As a collector and someone who has "sponsored"  bear_happy teddy bear artists for several years now, I do feel I have the right to state my opinion and this is something I had to get off my chest.
You know, Paula, that my criticism doesn't apply to your bears.  bear_smile

Well, there are some very 'different' looking creations, but they do qualify as having distinctive faces.  Although I, too, tend to prefer the more traditional piece of artwork, there are others who will find joy in an edgier, more outre' offering.  Think this slide show gives viewers an idea of the diversity of talent among the membership of the Guild.

Just goes to show - beauty is in the eye of the "bear holder"!  Sorry, I just couldn't pass that up!  bear_tongue

These teddy bear (and friends) 'faces' have been carefully selected because they are uniquely expressive and of course, beautifully made - also, because as Sue Ann says, they showcase a wonderful range of talents and diversity of artistic approach.  We have over 700 bearcrafting members on the Guild, working in all teddy related genres, so please expect to see both traditional and contemporary bears in this fascinating slideshow, lol!  I love that bear artists are not only creating wonderful representations of traditional teddy bears, but also more 'cutting edge' interpretations, as I think it keeps the teddy bear world fresh and exciting!  bear_original

Thank you for visiting the showcase, I hope you all found bears to fall in love with, bears to admire and also bears to give you food for thought, lol!  bear_tongue
