Hi Everyone,
I found a Mungo Monkey in an Antique Mall today. I just couldn't go home without him. He's so cute. I hope I didn't pay too much $108? He's in perfect shape. He has the paper hang tag. There is no button in his ear. You can see a slight hole where there was one. Did I do ok? Wow this is my first Steiff animal.

You got a great Mungo! Is he the larger size (about 10 inches tall)?

For many collectors, the Steiff chest tag alone is more desirable than the ear button alone. It tells more about when the animal was made. With the mohair in such good shape, and with such an expressive little face, I think you did well on the price.

Enjoy your new multi-colored friend!

Nice find! I recently saw one on ebay for about the same price you paid but it didn't have the chest tag. I think you did well bear_original

I picked this guy up awhile back at the flea market. Not too sure what company made him, his tag only reads materials & product of japan. But he is completely wired all over & has a small tail that when you move it back and forth he shakes his head " no " , I think they're called no - no monkeys. If anybody has ever seen this before & would know what company made him, that would be greatly appreciated! :)
