I recently acquired this Plush Creations black bear (circa 1990) also marketed under the name "Platt River Trading"....I'd seen them before on ebay and CL, but always displayed sitting up, and my reaction was "meh.." - they look too skinny in the upper torso, and too awkward.
finally this guy was listed up at a low price, so I said what the hell and rolled the dice on him.

turns out, he's meant to lay down (who knew?)and he's very, very girthy! I'm amazed at how nice he is to cuddle in bed, he's like a smaller version of my huge Sigikid Grizzly-

Nice round rump and full shoulders as a bear should be
