Netcong, New JerseyI just wanted to show off (!!!) or share really what I found at an estate sale of an antique dealer this morning. It opened at 9 a.m. and when I arrived at 8:30, there were about six antique dealers waiting there already. The sale was advertised on Craigslist and said it had some Steiff. Apparently on Fridays, less people show up per sale because there are so many sales going on in the area. One dealer came about 100 miles for this one. When they opened, only five people were allowed in the basement where most of the better things were, and I was lucky to be in the group, as some went out back where they had more stuff. I swear, I very gently pushed past everyone to get to the Steiff (oops).
Anyway, I bought this group for $175: six Steiff and one little Schuco-type bear with the tin and the little doll bed. Not bad (I think)
But the best part was when I got home, I noticed the little dog has a U.S. Zone Germany tag on his side. Woohooo! Maybe I'll go back tomorrow.....
