Hi all; I have a pattern question that I hope you may be able to help me with.
I want to make a replica early 1900's steiff bear as I have always wanted one but cant afford to buy one
Can anyone recommend a good pattern that is similar that I can adjust and adapt or give me some tips for key points if I do my own pattern (like if they used 2 or 4 part body etc). Any suggestions would be much appreciated :)
heres a link of the sort of thing I'm hoping to do

Have you looked at the Barbara-Ann Bears/Norbeary Fabrics website? They have patterns for traditional bears that have a similar look and sell mohair and general bearmaking supplies too. http://www.norbearyfabrics.co.uk/patterns.shtml
Steiff did use a 4-piece body, as well as long arms.
The one in your photo has an adorable face

I made one from a Barbara Ann pattern - she also lists pdf patterns on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/BarbaraAnnBears.
Another similar kind of pattern is a Bing Bear - see the link https://www.teddy-talk.com/viewtopic.php?id=46790.
