I'd love to make a similar cat (for myself), but haven't had any luck finding a realistic pattern. Any suggestions?

What a great (big) cat!

I'm going to go ahead and say that this is the kind of design you'll need to work out for yourself. You could start with some simpler soft-toy patterns (many free ones online) or look at the Craftsy site for a cat pattern. Then it would be a matter of tweaking until you get what you're after. I'm considering the latter in this "luxury shag" faux fur:

Though 4' might be a little too big, so I'd try to resize to about 3'. I think the first pattern would be too advanced for me, but judi lynn's patterns look pretty manageable.
