Hi friends,
Since the response to last year's Christmas card swap was poor, I decided not to organize it again this year.
However, I did send out my Christmas cards to all the people that were on the list last year.
So you can still PM me your name and address; you'll certainly get a card from me and I will forward your address to the other members who participated.
Thank you for understanding.
Thanks Peter and I will also be posting to those on last year's list
Thank you, Peter, for mentioning this. For those who are recent members and who may not know about 'card swaps': years ago, when we had many active members, we sent greeting cards to one another during the holiday season. Those interested in doing this submitted their names/addresses to a specified organizer, then that person would make up lists of about 10 people and send a list to each of the persons wanting to participate. So - each participant would send a card to every person on his/her list. It meant that essentially every person wanting to participate would get cards from 10 different people. Be aware that I'm using the number '10' as an example . . . it could be more or less, depending on how many signed up. Hope this explanation is clear enough. The number of interested people has dwindled severely over the last several years, so this is the background for Peter's post. It was exciting to receive cards from people all over the world, but these days time constraints keep a lot of us from participating. Lyn, thank you, too, for hanging in there with us . . . we appreciate all of you that still visit our forum and check in from time to time.
I am sending out cards to all the people from last year's list, too! Maybe some of the new people on here will join in....please let us know!
