Hi fellow teddy makers, I have a problem with some of my Teddy arms in that they turn out and make Teddy look like like he is shrugging ...the last one was so pronounced I had to pull them in at the inner elbow with a tight knotted thread. It seems to happen most when I use a pattern with one piece arms. Any suggestion as to what I,m doing wrong please.
I had trouble with that too. Putting a dart in the underside of the wrist and some hash marks to line it up better helped keep them straight. If I don't do that they "twist" outwards.
Hi Jacquie,
It sounds as if you might be placing the arms too high (too close to the neck).
Maybe try jointing them a bit lower on the torso?
You can also make sure the disks you are using are large enough. If the disks are too small, the top of the arms might tend to puff up when you fill them.
