I am restoring a 65 year old Austrian bear that is stuffed with wood wool.
It's head had fallen off with the disc still in its body. I unpicked the back and emptied the filling to get to the discs and cotter pins.
Now I am having a problem with sewing the head around the cotter pin because the material/fabric doesn't reach anywhere near the pin
I thought I should remove some head stuffing which seems to be very hard and compacted so that I can push the disc down further and then gather the neck and the pin but this is not working.
Any ideas/help would be appreciated. I have uploaded some photos.
