Is there a certain thread you ladies use in a sewing machine?
Your sewing machine should be able to handle just about any thread. You may have to make very minor adjustments to the tensions.
I use Serger threads alot because they are on nice big cones, but i have also used polyester, rayon, cottons, etc.....
For teddies I use an all purpose cottoncoated or pure cotton threat, and since I have a triple stitch function I use it alot.
1 forward 2 back to forward one back something like this.......the machine does the work, I certainly don't
For heads, around stress points, that sort of thing
I also tighten the tension a bit and use a 2mm stitch....
You should be able to experiement and find what you like....

Hey Jenn,
You must be having fun experimenting with your new sewing machine.
I use polyester thread in my machine...either Gutermann (preference) or Coats & Clark...either Brand you can get at a craft store, fabric store or quilt shop.
I tried upholstery thread in my fancy schmancy machine but no matter how much I tried to adjust the tension it just did NOT like it. I believe it's an allergy for the machine.
My old diehard Kenmore that I've had since birth practically needs to be taken to the sewing machine doctor and I'm going to ask him to adjust it specially for the upholstery thread.
Have fun...can't wait to see what you sew up!!!

I use upholstery (100% nylon) thread in my machine exclusively when I make my bears. If I'm sewing clothes for them I switch to regular thread.

I think mine is allergic to it too... it actually broke the needle tip!!!!
