I was trying to make a pair angel wings out of some sheer fabric I found... I thought they looked okay until I saw all the lovely wings on this thread... I think I'll start over now...
That happens to me too...ALL the time!!! But it's fun being challenged to go out of your comfort zone and try new things...sometimes they work out great!!!
Shelli - what are your bears wings made or? I went to Michael's last night and I got all they had of the fusible plastic (16 bags of it)... they were on sale for $1.50 each and were originally $5.99!!!! YAY! I thought well I am having some good luck now... until today when I woke up and feel like crap and my one eye is really swollen... I dont want to be sick! I think it may be my yearly broncitis showing up.... I dont know if I want to go to work! I always feel guilty not going to work even though I am ligitimately sick!
I just found this link for using sculpy to make fairy wings ..........................
Thank you Vicky!!!! I saw sculpy liquid at Michaels last night... it was about $8 a bottle.... I am going to try this fusible stuff first and then buy some of that Now that I have instructions, I might go back later this week and get it....
Bonnie, I don't mind you asking questions.
I painted my eyes BEFORE they were baked. That way they are nice and strong. The feel almost like really soft plastic and you can really rip them. I love the stuff!
Shelli, nice wings. I've never had to make wings that large before, but you did a wonderfull job.
And again, thanks for the comments guys!
But it's fun being challenged to go out of your comfort zone and try new things...sometimes they work out great!!!
You are so right about that Shantell!
Oh shelli thankyou so much for showing us your lovely picture, i now have a better idea
That bear is so to die for but then again arent all of your bears

YOU ARE ALL OUTSTANDING, take a bow. You all deserve it.
I feel slightly guilty  now that I'm going to benifit from your ideas and all those links!! just a treasure trove.......... Matilda
I do my wings in stump work. But last year I found what I thought were stickers and when I got them home, realised they were acrylic butterflies and dragonflies. So have used the dragonfly wings for one wee bear. I thought they looked good until now..........
Kim, your bear is fantastic - I'm so glad the fusible threads worked out well for you.
I've still got tons of the stuff in all different colours. One day I'm going to plan a little fairy series and play around with the different colours that I have and co-ordinate it with my mohair stash.
Heather,
Thanks! I have painted regular poly clay before baking, but didn't know if you could do that the liquid stuff. I will try it.
Kim,
Twinkle is darling. The wings are great and I love her antennaes. Hope you're feeling better too!
