We had a whale swim and get itself a bit stranded in the River Thames in London. One of the first places it was spotted was outside the Houses of Parliament.
Rescue workers have worked endlessly to save it and get it back to the open sea, but it got very distressed, and was injured anyway, and it died this evening..........
I'm gutted I've been following the story with my 2 kids, it's really sad.
Here's the news link:
OH NO!! he died ?? Argh that is soo sad. that poor whale !!! There are so few of them to start with Urgh. i hate it when things like this happen
That is so sad. I hadn't heard it had died just that it was there and looked really ill.
Yes Clare I had been watching it and this morning hubby told me it had died. It is always sad when one of these magnificent animals die.....
Oh thats sad, I was reading the story this morning, made the Denver
post.
I didnt want him to die
I didnt hear about this. Such a sad story.
We had a whale in our area (well 30-45 min away from me) that kept swimming up and down the area waterways... he eventually went out to sea..
Hi Clare,
We had watched it last night on the news and was so sorry to hear the news
this morning, that it had died. Such a sad end to this story.
We often have whale strandings over in NZ and sometimes about 20 - 30 are beached
and it is such a hard job getting them back to the ocean.
Often, they follow a member of their pod that are ill and that is how they become stranded.
Yes, I've been following the whale story, too . . . so sad that it died. Those animals are so awesome!
Hi Clare,
yes!! I just heard that he died, it's so sad. We have hundreds that beach themselves on our coastline every year, no one knows why they come into shore...but there's always plenty of people to try to get them back out to sea again, have a look at the link below this happened in the middle of winter last year in Western Australia,
