For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
I am not sure where I heard it but Norton have gone out of business they were not far from the people I get my mohair from so I asked tem if they had taken over there business this is the reply I thought it might be of interest if any one was wondering what had happened to them
We took over Nortons work in progress when they went out of business.
We have been dyeing & finishing some of their loomstate stock.

Ged

Hmmmmm.... Maybe some of the Norton's lovely mohair will survive afterall?
Oooh, that could be good news. I hope they continue on.
The more mohair choices, the better!
Sounds like they are just finishing off what was in progress when the mill shut down.
I bet Johnna may know a lot more about it.
The official word, just FYI, is that Norton (the mohair mill) went out of business several years ago. Intercal still has some original Norton mohair in stock... but once it's gone, it's gone.
Ged from Peacock Fibres offers a great service, so this is definitely good news for lovers of Norton mohair!
Good point Daphine. You are so smart!
Geds a great guy and very helpful, I call him for a chat if I need advice about fillings etc, he allways helps and I love next day dellivery, if I phone in the morning it is there the folloing mornig, I just got 10 Kg of stuffing
so does this mean tht this nice person Geds, took ovetr the mill and know the techniques that Norton used, or aRE they going to be developing their own line?
does anyone know?
