For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
This is the newest bruin out of my studio, WUZZY... made from an Intercal curly/matted quality in a somewhat longish pile length, that I dyed using Spice Brown Cushing's Dye (available here.) It made a wonderful, rich, cinnamon/chocolately finish.
I have several obligations (retailers, etc.) and so am not sure where this one is going to end up, but it's been a while since I had anything posted that would end up somewhere for sale, so I HAD TO post her, to prove that yes, I do still love and make bears!
WUZZY is just under 15" and wears a vintage doll dress and vintage green glass bead necklace, plus a pretty iridescent bow tied at her forehead (Daphne-style.) She features suede pads and handpainted green glass eyes.
More on her ultimate destination later, when it gets determined. Must finish two more (panda) pieces first, and then decide for all three.
Thanks for peeking!
She is fantastic, shelli ! She has the sweetest expression and I love this feet shape :).
Oh my, Shelli . . . this little girl is waaaaay adorable!! I love her cute, innocent expression and her outfit. Also, the dye job is terrific - that's a super color. Whoever gets her has a treasure!
Aw, A lovely lass! She looks very fresh in her white dress. I love her emerald eyes and the dye job too.

Wuzzy is wonderful Shelli. Nice photo background!
Thank you all for the very nice comments about WUZZY. I am enjoying dyeing very much!
I got the photo background idea from TamiL, one of our new members. I asked where she bought her pink/coral/white backdrop and she told me it was created digitally! So I did the same myself for these pictures.

The backdrop is digital??? really? I need to find out how to do that!
Oh Shelli! Wuzzy is wonderful! I adore her sweet expression and again those eyes of yours truly allow all Potbelly bears sure identification. She is outstanding and I only wish she was coming to the Carrick house cause I would give her lots of love!
Many Hugs Louise

She is adorable and of course, you know we are all curious about the digital background!

Mmmm.... the background....
I'm sure there are lots of ways to do this, but what I did was to...
1. SELECT the actual background I shot the photographs on (in this case it was black but in the future I think I'll switch to white.) In PhotoShop, in this particular case, I used the MAGIC WAND tool to select the black background.
2. INVERSE SELECT, so that what my program is "looking at" is the bear, and not the background (fyi, it's easier to select the background because it's all one color the colors of the bear vary)
3. OPEN the file in which the photo backdrop had been saved
4. MOVE the selected teddy bear from the original photo to the backdrop photo
5. CENTER / RESIZE the teddy to fit the backdrop
6. CROP to accentuate
I think there's a better way to do this having to do with REPLACING the original black backdrop, but I don't know much about REPLACE functions yet. It's a big program to learn!
Hope this helps someone!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!!
