Sorry, the following comes in French for Irène.
"Lecturer" veut dire Maître de Conférences, encore désigné sous l'appellation Enseignant Chercheur en Université. autrement dit c'est un poste comportant une charge d'enseignement en grande partie sous forme de cours magistraux (en amphithéatre) et de la recherche en laboratoire.

Sorry, dear friends, I had to explain to Irène what "Lecturer" means.
