Hi all,
I don't know what to do with myself today as i have just had a phone call from my mum telling that my grandma has passed away today.
I don't want you all to feel sorry for me but i feel that i just needed to talk about it and i really need a hug
She has been ill for some months now and we all knew that this day would come but it still don't make it any easy.
She meant so much to me and i know that i did to her as i am her only granddaughter.

I'm so sorry you're hurting, but glad you felt you could share with us. Grandma's are such precious people and that's why it hurts so much when they leave us. I know the feeling you have today, kinda disbeleif and unsettled all together.

Vicki, It's so hard when someone we love dies, but perhaps this poem I heard read at a friends funeral might help in some small way.
THE DASH
I read of a man who stood to speak At a funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates on her tombstone From the beginning...to the end. He noted that first came her date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all Was the dash between those years. (1934-2006) For that dash represents all the time That she spent alive on earth... And now only those who loved her Know what that little line is worth. For it matters not, how much we own The cars...the house...the cash, What matters most is how we live and love And how we spend our dash. So think about this long and hard... Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left, That can still be rearranged. If we could just slow down enough To consider what's true and real, And always try to understand The way other people feel. And be less quick to anger, And show appreciation more And love the people in our lives Like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect, And more often wear a smile... Remembering that this special dash, Might only last a little while. So, when your eulogy's being read With your life's actions to rehash... Would you be proud of the things they say About how we spend our dash? By Linda Ellis

Of course it hurts honey, and you'll always miss her.....It's one of the draw backs to life that they don't tell us when we first get here.....
I'm sorry.
We don't get outa life without a few tears along the way....
But we care and are here....I'd love to see a picture of her......
