Hi,
I'm really new to bearmaking, and I've never held a bear made by someone else so I'm not sure how they're supposed to "feel".
I use fibreboard discs with locknuts. I stuff reasonably firmly. I'm sure I'm using the correct size disc for my bear size, but all my bears have a "hard" feel at the joints. Is this normal? If not, will gluing foam to the discs before the actual stuffing goes in help at all? What about using much smaller discs.
Any suggestions?
Hi Pepper,
I am new at disc myself. There are a lot of very knowledgeable girls here..... they will help you out. I noticed mine were like that too.
Can't wait to here ......

Hi Pepper and Kassie
I am not sure I understand what you mean when you say they are hard feeling. Do you mean you can feel the disk? If that is so, it is normal. Your disc size should fill the shoulder or leg area except for about a 1/4" space around the seam. Hope that makes sense.

Hi pepper. Big discs meens less place for stuffing, then you will feel the dic. Smaller discs meens much place for feeling, then you will not feel the discs, but your legs will be more larger on the top. Hope you will understand my poor english
I would use a slightly smaller one in the legs, so you don't feel them and there is more room for stuffing. Then in the body cavity use one a bit bigger so it would be the same size as the top of your leg when stuffed.
I do that in my minis. Hope that helps.
