I like the last little guy the best I think. I think it is really important to have a nice white highlight in the eye as it sort of brings the face to life and the last picture has the best highlights.
Maybe thats just a technical reason, because I really like the style of your bears Jennie!
Best of luck with your ad!

We have a 15 1/2 yr. old Lab/Doberman mix. She is 'well past her expiry date' bear_happy  for a large breed so we decided that she could eat whatever food was her favourite in her twilight time. Her absolute favourite is "OL' Roy" brand dry that makes its own gravy. This is one of the brands on the list, but as previously mentioned, the ban is only on canned or wet food. The last bag we bought her of 'Ol' Roy' she refuses to eat gravied or dry.
Makes me wonder if she knows something we don't........ bear_ermm  bear_ermm

Don't you think its interesting that the same company makes the $50 a bag food and the $10 a bag food? Really makes me wonder about all the hype..... bear_ermm

Congratulations Jane! You must be so excited
My only advice on dealing with stores (on consignment) is to make sure that you have a very detailed contract that outlines what happens if...say for instance a piece is stolen or damaged. Don't worry though, it is strictly a precaution and I'm sure your bears won't be there long enough - they'll fly off the shelves!
Best Wishes

Oh what a sweetheart Penney! Ditto what everyone else said about stretching and learning.
Why not wait and see if he fits any of the categories for the URSA awards? The categories are announced in April and I'm sure they'll get posted on TT!

I think that it was Lisa Thoms that first posted about this opportunity.

After reading through the submission guidelines it looks like you have to send them your finished bear and not just photographs. Has anyone ever submitted to this mag before?

I think this feature on Karen O'Brien is the first bear story they've done. I really would like to submit something but I seem to be suffering from a major brain fart at the moment and everything I'm attempting seems like just crap so we'll have to see.............. bear_whistle

This isn't a dumb question at all! In a competition situation, knowing how to measure might be the difference between first prize and disqualification. If its for something specific - always ask how they want it measured!

I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles Patsy! You're right...you will beat this...the war will be won but some of the battles are going to be hard. Be good to yourself.
If I may give you a word of advice that my doctor gave me when I found out I was dealing with a chronic pain situation.
She said:"When I give the diagnosis, I make an appointment to see you in 1 month. You will either come to me with a raft of research you have done on the internet, which we will go through and discuss why some things work and some don't. You will know all you can about your ailment and we will become partners in your management/recovery.  Or you will show up completely defeated asking for a wheelchair".

I remember thinking it was a bit harsh but you know, it is true! Educate yourself all you can and you can feel less like a victim and more like the 'warrior chick' you want to be!
Bless you sweetie! I'll be praying for you!

Hi lynette

why are the entry fees so expensive? ($65 = approx R520?)
per bear

Hi Christine
I'm not Lynette but maybe I can answer this.
I think this is a pretty standard entry fee for "A list" competitions. There are many expenses involved in putting together a big comp. plus it keeps people from flooding contests with entries. A higher entry fee means that you are serious about entering and will only enter what you think is your best.

I think this is why but what do other people think?

PS thanks for the info Lynette!

Hi Eliza
OOOOOO...stick bears are my favourite!  bear_wub They have that beautiful simple line that I think is so unique but hard to achieve - Diane does it brilliantly! They have straight arms and almost no feet and the torso is straight up and down (no belly or hump) I guess this was done to save fabric. I have a couple golden oldies in this style- here is the most recent one I bought:

Hi Brenda
You're right...maybe Thumper and Picasso are brothers! I had to dig around and see if I could find a picture of the devine Mr. P. Its not a bad picture, that's his normal sour expression! Please excuse the hideous blanket he is on...its the dog's favourite bear_rolleyes
