Thank you Marlys!
Thank you Kathy!
Thank you Jane! A big part of the fun of bear making is hearing comments from other artists such as yourself!
Thank you Sue Anne  ... isn't this the most fun art form? I've tried so many and creating bears is my favorite!
You've done a great job on her!
Even our family couldn't make it here just on my bear income... unless we ate berries & hibernated in the winter...
We have a low mortgage, but between food & clothing for 5 and the price of gas  we'd never make it. My hubby has a full time job (youth worker) and my bears allow me to contribute a little while homeschooling our kids. At least they pay for themselves
... this is the only form of art that I've done where I haven't gone way in the red. And it is so enjoyable right from seeing a bear take shape & come to life to hearing how excited the new mom is that as long as it pays for itself I'm happy. It would be nice to be able to make a reliable living with bear creating though... my hubby's job is so stressful that it would great if I could support us for a while!
Thank you for your wonderful comments!     These two were so fun to create and their new mom is excited about them. I'll be sad to see them go! I get to enjoy them for a few more weeks though as their mom is taking a trip through British Columbia from the UK. It'll be great to meet her in person!

These two are a commission I just finished. They are 12" and made from their new mom's mother's fur coat... that was a mouthful. They are twins and are looking forward to their new home in the UK!
Gorgeous! Just gorgeous!
I hope you show us a picture of him with his ears on! He's cute & I'm sure will be even cuter with ears!
In all the years I've enjoyed my cats, I'm glad I've only had to bath one! They can sure get a wee bit annoyed, can't they! I like picture #7... he looks like he's planning payback!
Aww Aww Aww!
I'd be interested in a show in Edmonton too. I was just about to start a post asking if there were any when I saw this post. Let me know if you plan anything! Thanks!
So Beautiful, Judi!
Wonderful detail! It's amazing how different a creation can look after being painted! I really have to dust off my airbrush & learn to use it... you are so inspiring!
They are all so wonderful!
I couldn't pick a favorite! Stunning work!
Oh! is he ever great! Such personality!
Great job, Peggy! A very cute hug of bears!
Too cute! What a great imagination you have!
A well deserved honor! ![]()
I really feel sorry for your Mom, as she is new to this, I recommend to everyone these days if you have not got a website get one there are loads of free ones around too, and splash your name around the internet as much as you can to draw people to your site, and only use eBay as and advert if you can.
Good Luck to your Mom.
Hugs
Jacqui
Thanks Jacqui  ... I agree about getting a web page and I've been trying to get her to start one. Even just a basic one would be helpful.
Hi Melisa..........just a note to let you know that with small packet post surface (First Class Mail International) for $1:05 you can purchase a certificate of mailing (PS form 3877). Although this doesn't enable tracking it does give proof of posting and the date it was posted. This information may help your Mum in the future. Usually anything posted to me from USA using First Class Mail International arrives within ten days, however from Canada it can take up to three months.
Bear Hugs, Alveen
Hi Alveen,
Thanks for the information. I've asked and asked at my post office and they've never even suggested that option! According to the ladies at this post office small packet has no other options. I'll have to ask about that specifically.
Now that's one neat poodle! Great creativity!
Wow! Great job!
This is getting depressing! Ebay has been a good source of advertising for me... getting to be a bit too much demanding though. And they don't seem to take the seller much into consideration.
My mom just started selling her bears on ebay (she hasn't joined TT yet... I'm helping her with her computer adventures). She sent a package to Australia by small packet surface mail (cheapest way but no tracking number available) as agreed upon but the buyer decided it wasn't getting there quick enough. Because it was paid through paypal, she put in a dispute before the package even had time to arrive! And because Mom didn't have a tracking number they didn't even give her a way to say "Can't we wait until the package has time to arrive?" Crazy!
Cecilia is beautiful!
What a wonderful job you've done on her & beautiful tatting work!
