I saw someone on TV the other day whose kid had done something similar say that "we decided not to make a big deal of it - we didn't want to start WorldWar 3" . The host of the show (TD Jakes (love him!)) said " Your kids are worth the war". You and her Dad have shown her that her safety and wellbeing are worth something to you by giving her a lasting and well thought out punishment - I say GOOD FOR YOU!

I know Jane! It was 24C here last Sunday and I was wearing shorts! Now our weather looks just like yours and the snow's still coming down fast & furious.
How come "global warming" seems to have missed us?
Stay warm,
Cheryl
I have had mostly good experiences with kids at shows and my own has come with me since he was a baby. He was taught very strictly to "look with your eyes & not with your hands" at shows and when an artist handed him a bear to hold he just about fainted dead away from the stress. I just never wanted other artists to say " Oh no! HE'S here again!"
If a child would really like to see a bear, I will sometimes get down low and hold the bear for them so they can just stroke it a little - most of the time its all they want but each situation is different.

I just saw this on the news this morning - Boy, that's some serious hail! I hope you have a turn around in your luck as of late!

Lemon Meringue pie...nudge, nudge wink wink!

Although I certainly don't support the seal hunt, the issue is a complex one that also involves culture. It is easy to look at this from only one perspective but I doubt any of the many countries TT represents could stand up to scrutiny where our treatment of animals or people are concerned.
Again, I think the seal hunt is barbaric, but simply boycotting Canadian imports isn't the answer.
No offense is intended, just the viewpoint of someone from Canada.
PS The Yukon is an incredibly beautiful territory in Northern Canada near Alaska.

"Alas, the poor other nominees won't stand a chance!" Great Work Maria!

Awesome! Just like the real deal!
Good job

Sure looked strange seeing all that snow when we have virtually none here - just a few patches left in shady areas.
I can send you some if you miss it too much Edie!
It's OK SueAnn...we might know how to deal with the snow better, but you should hear the whining and carrying on when we get a week or 2 of hot weather in the summer!
Stay safe!

Must be my lucky day...10.54 sec...but I guess a pilot career is out for me too!

I sometimes like to do OOAK based on a theme. My tags say..."NAME".... OOAK in the "name of series" series.
That way the collector gets a OOAK and I get to explore an idea as long as it interests me.
Its a Win/Win for everybody!

Wishing all our UK friends a very special MOTHER'S DAY!

Try to google "digital scrapbooking". You can find tons of free stuff and if you want a coordinated kit, there are thousands of kits available...Good Luck!

I asked DH Dwayne since he is the keeper of the ipod and he didn't know but did highly recommend the book "IPODs & ITUNES for Dummies" - your library should have it (that's where he got it) and most likely will have the answer. Unfortunately he returned it to the library already or he'd look it up for you!

Funny...I was just talking to Krista about the show today!
August would be okay, again I think not the long weekend.
September is tough because its back to school and all the expenses associated with that but I guess there's really an argument for and against any time.
Cheryl
Happy Valentines Day everyone!
Congratulations to everyone! I voted...but it sure took a while to choose!

I think that they email you a high-res copy of it. I could be mixing this up with other comps though...
Personally, as a collector as well as an artist, I see a thank you note or a 'fan letter' I send an artisan as personal correspondance. I don't think I would like my words made public without my permission but maybe thats just me.
I have a file of letters that get pulled out periodically when I need a boost!
Cheryl
I was thinking the other day that we hadn't seen you for a while! FABULOUS house...
DH & I would be fighting it out for the attic as studio space! (He's a musician working on his first CD)
Keep us updated on your progress

We woke up to -43c with the wind chill. Most of the schools are closed and buses aren't running.
My son was soooooo in hopes of a snowday today but no such luck! They never seem to close the schools in the city. Mom:( ) Son: (
)!
It was a bone chilling -46C windchill this morning so I'm glad I don't have to go out to work today.
I am sorry about the heat wave & drought in Australia, any extreme weather is tough and I guess with my true Canadian heart, I would pick cold over extreme heat!
PAT:The summer varies of course, but last summer we had several days of 30C+ & a couple of 35C days and although our Australian, African & desert dwelling TT'ers wouldn't call that steamy - that's plenty hot for me!
I'm sorry MICHELLE to be sending this your way as it is really wicked!!

So far we have had a pretty mild winter but boy oh boy, did that change today! Yesterday it was -1C & a little bit cloudy but today its snowing like mad, the wind is howling at 50-70 kph & the temperature is -26C with a wind chill of -40C or more! Tuesday has a wake up temp of -34C!
I'm grateful for my tiny warm house & a vehicle that runs well (with a block heater plugged in overnight) but it sure is nippy!
WHAT'S THE WEATHER LIKE WHERE YOU LIVE?
Cheryl (oh no...my little flower is FROZEN! )
