Your welcome Daphne. I do understand about Mimzy's design but in my mind and heart, you are Mimzy's creator Mimzy. I do agree it's the principal of the whole thing. Thanks for your kind words
I was trying to be positive about how cute the bunny is but I thought of Daphne's bunny and that there was a tiny chance the name was a coincidence. When I saw the swirl on the heart I knew it wasn't. As an artist I don't think I could do that. I've never named my creations after an already well known soft sculpture like Garfield,Winnie the Pooh etc. Are there laws against doing that? I know it doesn't look like Daphne's bunny but I couldn't help feeling uncomfortable
about the ragbunny Mimzy. I felt like I needed to run and tell someone(like Paul Revere) but maybe I overreacted.
I just felt kinda protective towards the original Mimzy since we got to see it come to life and knew how much Daphne put into it
I saw a cute "ragbunny" on eBay in the artist bear section and it was named Mimzy. It doesn't look like the movie Mimzy but it looks like it has a "swirl" on it's chest heart. I have to run and get ready for school. Here's a link, hope it works:

i can go in the third week in August to start getting ready but I think I would be there unpaid as I amjust a sub until her maternity turns to paternity in September
Thanks Sue Ann

Hi Tami. Grade Primary is the first year of school (they may have gone to Preschool) , they are age 5 here when they start school so Primary is 5-6 year olds. I have been 20% (one day a week) in Grade 4. I actually went into Grade Primary full time at the end of April but was not sure if I would continue the position with a new class in September. I have some very challenging students coming in but the other Grade Primary teacher is a wonderful resource and support. I'm nervous but happy
Do you start in September or before? Your students are very lucky to have such a talented artist as a teacher
Tami, I got the word   I'll be teaching Grade Primary from September to at least May while the regular teacher is on paternity leave. I don't know what comes next so I'll just take it one day at a time.
Oh, I love Soft Dolls and your Raggedy is wonderful
I was just saying on another post that I am really into raggedy's right now, I can't wait to get the magazine
 Congratulations!!!!
Oh, good question Michelle
I am into raggedy dolls right now, havn't finished one but still really into them. Another thing I wonder is if the curls hold or if poor raggedy wakes up one morning with limp locks
I just saw your avatar, your kitties are beautiful
Kirby got skunked last week and I had to bath him, not fun
Sorry to hear about your hand Jennifer Hope it feels better soon  The piece probably is 7" by 58
Lisa, do you use Guttermann regular or upholstery in your machine? I'm having a hard time getting the bobbin tension right when I try to sew with the upholstery thread in my machine. I would like to baste by hand and then sew on machine as I just don't have time for the many weeks of hand sewing it takes me to finish a bear.
That's wonderful news Tami      I'm so happy for you
I'm still waiting, hope to know today
Wow Tami, good luck
I should find out today if the grade primary job that I did for May and June can be offered to me for the upcoming year.Fingers crossed
Hmmm, with school ending tomorrow, I may just be able to do this challenge since I hope to get back to making bears today or tomorrow
Very interesting, was it in the Electronics Department? I like my laminator that I bought there to do my certificates. It was in Office and school supplies
Heartfelt hugs and blessings for a fast and full recovery. God bless you!
Yipee!!!!!!
Congratulations Heather, your baby will be well loved, after all you love teddy bears so you are full of love
Hope you have a wonderful pregnancy
Thanks girls  Your right Sarah, I have been waiting for this for awhile. It doesn't count as a term or days needed to get a permanent job but the experience will be great and will count in an interview. I love working with 5-6 year olds and this is the best time of year
I already miss you guys and TT a great deal but I'm sooo busy trying to get ready and organize all the grade 4 stuff for the girl that will replace me Hopefully I'll get everything under control this week.
Miss you guys
Thanks,  I know I'll miss TT but maybe I'll have more time this summer to catch up
Many of you know that I teach a Grade 4 class one day a week and substitute the rest of the week mostly at my base school. I don't end up getting many days off but I have longed for a class of my own and to have the same grade everyday.
Well, I just got the news that I was successful this week in getting a job for the rest of the school year in the Grade Primary class   I already know and love these little people because I have spent many days in their class for the regular teacher who is pregnant. It is still only considered day to day subbing but they will be my class for the next two months.
Unfortunately, something needs to give and since I am unwilling to stop making bears, I need to stop spending time on the computer. I will need to stop browsing bears on eBay and worst of all, stop coming to Teddy Talk
The last few months, I have only had time to read and view posts and all the beautiful bears. Now I must stop visiting. I will really miss all of you but hope to maybe stop in once or twice on the weekends. I will list bears on ebay when I can and would love to hear from anyone that might like to email. Hugs to you all, happy bearmaking
Connie, I am so in love with your bears,
they will be so popular when you start selling. I am very inspired to try a traditional bear as well, I know I cannot come close to the absolute perfect face that you create but with my hubbie out of work I know I could never afford to buy a bear. Your a real special talent and your bears speak to my heart.
Thanks Kim, We have a Wal-Mart nearby so I'll check for that color this weekend when I get to town and let you know.
