Yes Tammy it was Bears of the Glen.We should definitely try to get together.Power in numbers You are right Dilu,gas is very expensive and no public transit.Tammy and I live an hour and a half apart.

Tammy,I have relatives in Halifax and Dartmouth.My vacation is just ending though so I won't get up there again for a while. I'm thinking of going up maybe early Sept.for shopping but I have to beg my driver as I don't know where I'm going up there and he does.Maybe we could meet.Let's talk

You must be talking about Joan Murray,she was my first contact with bear artists and I did a little show with her group a few years back at a mall.They were trying very hard to educate people about artist bears.I didn't have any luck getting into the guild though,are they still active at all?

She closed down when I was really getting started but I found my way on my own :lol::lol:

Dilu honey,I really like this shade of purple ,it looks wonderful on my monitor and  I don't really see anything wrong with the bear except maybe ,yes,I think she could use a mouth.Maybe just put her away for a bit and then go back when your feeling "fresher".I have a point in almost every bear I make where I just hate the bear but after I work for a while(sometimes days it seems) I finally arrive at something I either can live with or really like.I would never finish a bear if I stopped at the point where I just didn't like him or her.

Oh Kim,don't give up,it takes awhile to get going on ebay.Have you been selling on ebay very long? When I first started on ebay it took a long time for people to get to know me and start bidding.I think it really is just a very slow time.your turn will come.

I do realize the problem in Canada and my buyers are almost always from the States or Europe.I feel better knowing that eBay is very slow but my income is at a stand still with school out so I'm getting a bit down.I need income to buy supplies( both for bear making and for my three kids to go back to school,ugh) :(
Everyone was very supportive and very helpful. I'll get busy and get myself out there more.How does it work when you list a bear on here?Can you accept paypal?Tell me all the ins and outs,I just need a bit of info to get me started.

I'm back from the races and after spending the day with my Mom's breast cancer survivor group,I can't help but feel very fortunate and blessed.Tomorrows a brand new day.I'll say another prayer to St.Jude for a good outcome to my auction that ends tomorrow night and hope for the best.I'm off to count my blessings and spend the evening with my kids.

Thanks girls,I really value your opinion and support.It's just so hard that now when I really need the income,I'm falling behind,oh well better days ahead. I'm almost finished my two big room painting projects and need to do the duvets and window treatments for their rooms but then I'm going to concentrate on more bears and maybe get some done ahead.

I have put a few bears on bear pile but no luck yet.I'm having a few other things going on that are bringing me down so I really need the bears to give me a lift.

I am thank-full to have found this board,you girls sure give me a lift

I'm hoping someone can give me advice.I'm in a terrible funk right now and it doesn't help that my bears are not selling on ebay I am unable to spend a great deal of money to advertise and am going in the hole on  my auctions .I cannot find any collectors here in Canada and cannot do shows.I have a question,does Canadian shipping costs scare buyers? I actually had one lady email me  last year to say how amazing my bear was but that she wouldn't bid because she never buys from Canada.
    I have never sold anything from my site(still under construction) because I never have ant bears done ahead and am not sure how to accept payment through my site.

Okay,now I'm just babbling,I'm sure you understand my dilemma.I need to make bears but I also need to sell them.Please help/

I've been wondering,I'm new to bear making so I don't know much,do you send pictures to the magazines and they publish them if they like them?How do they choose who to write about and what the subject is?Please someone who has been featured please tell all Do you have to be famous first?I can't afford to take out an add so I wonder if there is another way to get exposure. Sorry to be so nosy that's so great for you gals and thanks for bringing to our attention  Laura.Way to go!! :cool:

Oh,Nanc,your yorkie is soo beautiful(I'm a yorkie lover) and the doll is stunning also .I really appreciate your kindness.Is the long hair wool roving that you needle felted on.I'm thinking it would be done the same way I put hair on my fairy.This is a very early attempt at soft sculpture so please keep that in mind

Thanks Nanc I also only have dial-up(which just disconnected half way through this sentence,grrr) so I did tell her the pictures were large and may take time to load.She wants me to send her pictures,that should be okay,shouldn't it?
Thanks so much for your wonderful comments,I'm pleased with him even though the needle felting takes loads of time.I actually found it kinda soothing though,all that poking takes out your frustrations or maybe that's just me :rolleyes:
I hope he does well,I've been in a bear funk and just couldn't bear(pardon me) for him not to sell.Well I'll say my prayers to St.Jude like I always do and hope for the best.I'm not sure if he answers "bear prayers" but it seems to help and certianly can't hurt.
