Shari

I like them Dilu, very unique!:) the little darlings are so cute anyway but I think it adds a bit of style and originality.I say YAAAAAY!
Blessings,shari.

I was telling my hubbie that one of you gals was from Oregon because we had looked into relocating there about 6 years ago with his rail car making company that has it's parent company there. It looks beautiful!! Didn't work out though:(

Shari

Thanks Jane and Catherine hugs to you both:)

Jane it's cold and raining here just managed to snap a few pictures before it poured bear_ermm Can't wait to see your bear when it cools and you stop melting bear_grin

Catherine ,I love your site and your avatar is adorable.:D
Blessings,Shari.

Shari

Okay,so I finished my bear, and yes he has two ears.I'm going to try to post a few pictures.I will put him on eBay tomorrow but I'm unsure of him.I kept wanting to fluff and scissor trim,he seems unfinished without all the regular fussing.I guess that's why I made him a passport, map traveling tag and a leather bag for all his stuff:lol: I'm thinking of calling him "Terwilliger".[img][/Picture3559.jpg

Hope this works,Shari.

Shari

Hi Kirsten,I'm new here so you probably don't know me but heartfelt congratulations.I sympathize with your exhaustion and food problems bear_sad Hope it gets better soon.I am a substitute teacher so I know how much you must have been looking forward to the summer and making more bears:) Oh well, this is much better and at least you can rest now that school's out.
Blessings,Shari.

Shari

Guess what,I found a little scrap just big enough for an ear so I'm working on him now.He should be ready by tomorrow but I don't know if I'll like him,he's tapestry and not mohair so we'll see but I'd love to see everyone else's. Till then blessings,Shari.

Shari

Your bear is wonderful Marie, such a sweet innocent face,so much expression!Great job,you must be so pleased :D
Hugs and blessings,Shari.

Shari

Hooray..after a full days search and a prayer to St.Jude I have finally found...... a scrap of tapestry just big enough for an ear yeaaaah!! I do like the beret suggestion though as the tapestry has kind of a traveling /postage stamp theme and I am making him a passport a baggage tag and have already printed a small map of Europe that I aged for him.I don't usually work in tapestry and have put him away many times(probably how the ear went missing:rolleyes: ) I still may not like him in the end but ,he's almost done and my husband thinks I should finish.Off I go to make a beret,I mean ear:lol: Hugs,Shari.

Shari

Wow,that's awesome. You have a wonderful room,I love all the storage.Mine is a little dark hole in the basement and not nearly as well organized. In fact I have spent all day looking for a lost ear for my bear .he is all done but for his ears, nose and a few accessories.I can't even find the left over scrapes and fear they were thrown out in my last cleaning jag:( He is made of tapestry that I cannot replace.Well back to the search,

Shari

Thanks SueAnn I checked and I am on your page so I will add you to my new link page.I'm still working on my site and with dial up it can be slow but anyone who who like to ,can add my address:www.geocities.com/bearmaker55  If you give me permission,I will gladley add you to my site. Thanks beary much,Shari.

Shari

Best of luck!I sympathize .Wish I could get more done also.Be sure to post a picture of the bear you do this week after all your hard work.Blessings,Shari.

Shari

Wow,that's awesome and a bit shocking all at once.I second everyone on all counts...great pictures, beautiful yard.We have had sightings very close to us and I was always nervous when the kids were younger that a bear or coyote would wander in the yard.I would love to see one though. We watched two at a wildlife park that are famous for eating at a picnic table but my pictures were no where as good as yours.

Hugs and blessings,Shari.

Shari

I would like to link also but I don't have a banner:|.I'm working on my site and it's come a long way in a few days.I got lots of wrinkles out thanks to Jane:D Here's my site address: www.geocities.com/bearmaker55 I'm not sure I did that right but I would love to put  links for you gals on my site.I'm going to try it as soon as I get a chance.Hugs and blessings,Shari.

Shari

Shelli, thanks so much for the tips:):):) I think what I am missing is a goof photo editing program. My pictures from my camera are huge and I cannot seem to make them smaller in my picture folder.I was able to resize my page with Jane's help and will be redoing my site as time allows.I liked my background so i found a way to keep it.I just need to redo my pictures and text.

I also wanted to send my heartfelt prayers to you and your beloved kitty.I lost my "Crispy" two weeks before  Christmas /03.She was very special as she was my second black cat(lost the first when I was about 7 or 8) and she had 26 toes.I swore I would not replace her because of the extreme grief that went with her loss but the kids would not be convinced and adopted a kitten from the animal shelter that January. She is totally white and was very shy and scared.I tried to stay aloof and let her get attached to the kids but it did not work and she made me her pet.I know this story does not help ease your pain but I will keep you and your treasured friend in my thoughts and prayers.Heartfelt hugs and blessings,I'll say a prayer to St.Jude for you.
Shari.

Shari

Shelli,I love your site!!How do you get the pictures collaged like that.I'm trying to redo my site and Jane has been so sweet to give me advice. I want some "Victorian" trims and what not and I 'm also having trouble resizing my photos.I took a front page and web design class but I'm still a bit lost. What I really want seems beyond my means and capabilities, sigh, same old story.
  Blessings,shari.

Shari

Saying my prayers and hoping with all my heart that everything will be okay.It was such a shock to read this on the board this morning.Heartfelt hugs to you all.

Blessings,Shari.

Shari

Okay. This is just an extension of the "favorite thread one but I really need some advice.I discovered to my horror(blessings to Hayley bear_original )that my dental floss was all wrong.I read good things about gutermann which I already use for all my hand stitching but find it is not strong enough for closing my head or sinking eyes.I will look into the artificial sinew but need something right now to finish my bear.
Here's what I was able to find....(1)an upholstery thread by coats that is nylon but heavier than my usual gutermann which is polyester.
   (2) a monofilament(heavier than invisible thread) used for beading
   (3)  a heavy waxed cord(seems to be 4 stands together) made by Darice and also in the beading section.

okay, now bombard me with your advice and suggestions please!;) I'm ready for all the help I can get and in case you missed the great advice that I got,the dental floss is bad, bad, bad! Thanks so much for all your help.

Hugs and big fat bear blessings,Shari.

Shari

Thanks Hayley,I am shuddering now bear_ermm But I'm so glad you told me.I will watch for this on my angel bear that you have convinced me to keep:D I'll definetly look for the sinew.

Hugs and Blessings,Shari.

Shari

Hi Hayley. Thanks,my husband thinks the same thing.I do love her and she looks so nice in my bedroom that I'm redoing bear_original I was telling Judi that since the yarn belonged to my Mom's favorite aunt and they fought breast cancer at the same time that I will give the bear to my Mom as a gift and name her after my aunt that we both loved. That's if the bears a girl,I seem to end up with more boys;) maybe I can make the knitted bear an angel too and then Mom and I will both have a guardian angel.I think my Mom already does though because she has fought and survived twice so far.
thanks so much for the "chat" Hayley,I love the look of your avatar bear,it makes me smile!!
Blessings,Shari.

Shari

Sounds good!I think we may have the sinew in my store in the beading section.I'll have to look tomorrow.I do like the waxed floss though and it seems stronger than my regular thread.

Shari.

Shari

Thanks Sue Ann.It's nice to have a second opinion bear_original On boy bears I make it hand closer up to his neck so his fur hides it a bit.

Hugs,Shari.

Shari

Great topic!I too use the Gutermann thread for all my hand sewing,it's not "bulky" like some other heavy threads.I use dental floss for my neck and to put my eyes on.I find it very strong.I'll have to check out the sinew link.Thanks,Shari.

Shari

I do a sculpted polymer clay heart and put on as a necklace with gold mettalic thread but wonder if it is too easily lost by the collector down the road someday. :rolleyes:what do you all think?
  Blessings,Shari.

Shari

I love the" mine, mine mine" seagulls! bear_grin We watched Racing Stipes last night, cute!

Huggs,Shari.
