Happiness is being able to pry the freshly varnished clay nose that stuck to my finger off without any bloodshed. Oh, it would be considered a "happiness" bonus that no finger prints are left. hint, use the end of a paintbrush.
This so funny and it gets funnier as it goes along. Enjoy:

Why don't you contact an artist that you admire or does critters that are close to your vision and see if they are willing to work with you. Plus, see if they can give you a design class. you may have to travel to their location so factor in those expenses. Good luck.
I tack in key places such as the nose, middle of the head and end of the head the meets the end of the gusset. Ankle curves are another place I tack. Oh, I use hydrogen peroxide to get blood off the fur when I stick myself. It should be a part of every bear makers tool kit.
Thank you for posting these pictures. What wonderful talent all these people have.
All these bears are just so cute and wonderful. I made a bear out of an old 50's chenille bedspread. I must give a tip though. If you are making bears out of fabrics that are not fur, you must line them with good quality muslin. Meaning cut the same bear parts out of muslin and sew them to the fabric cut outs. Now sew the bear together. This helps with structure to the bear and gives more of sturdy seams.
Hi Laura Lynn: Wanda is writting screen plays. Wow what a career shift. I think she made wonderful bears. I hope she is doing them for fun still....
Oh no poor little guy! How upsetting!!! I agree with everybody else. He sould be fine. Just squish it around a little to reshape it if he needs it.
I wonder if anybody knows what happened to Diane Guard? I love her bears? Also Wanda Shope? Anybody know?
Julia: You may think about making the beard part of the pattern pieces. Meaning take the side of the head and cut part of the nose to chin off. depending on how much of a beard you want will dictate how much or the side of the face you cut. make sure you add back the seam allowance to the two pieces. So the nose part of the pattern will be your long fur for your beard. It is sewn to the other part of the head which will be your shorter fur. You will keep the guseset the same as the shorter fur. I hope I explained it o.k.
Joanne: thank you so much for your response to my question. Your blog was very informative!
When dying with Kool Aid, how long do you let it sit in the solution? Also, do you make it to package direction and just slack the fur?
thank you.
That is darling!
 Very cute!
I do the same thing Linda does. I tack down the toe, heal and both sides of the foot pad. than sew all the way around. Buy doing this I have not had any problems.
Wow. That is not good. I got this e-mail the other day from "pay pal". It was to confirm my information by "clicking on the link provided" to update my profile. It said they are revamping their communications with it's customers. That is a scam too. Pay pal would never to that. so there is a lotnof scams out there.
Lenora and Marrianne: thank you so much for the tips. Lenora, your doll is cute as a button!
Hello Teddy Bears Friends: I posted this question three years ago and wondered if there'd is anybody out there that may have the answer?
What darling little bears! simply adorable.
What a darling little bear!
I don't know either. Why not just use tape to section off the fur around the face to ensure you have the area you want to cut exposed? That works for me.
Congratulations! Beautiful bear. I too watched the royal wedding. Her dress was very regal and classy. I also had to get the recipe for the Chocolate Biscuit Cake. I found it on Oprah.com.
My friend and I are signed up for the first class. We are flying in Thursady, June 9th. we are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. we are renting a car to get around. We are hoping we can visit Stefanie at Sassy's for I adore making mini's and could always add to my stash of mini materials. I don,t know if she will be available for us to go shopping at her warehouse though. what class are you taking Karen?
