Oh Kathy...god bless , I know the surgery will make you much better ....prayers for you...Winney
I have their catalog..its FREE... there are many interesting supply items you could use for bears.. The smallest jaw set is the racoon one..it is small enough for a ted I heard....Winney
http://www.picturetrail.com/register/ Yup.I see free registration is advertised...They give you lots of room to create albums and they have been online since 1999 I think...Winney
WOW !!! GASP !!!. " HELP I'VE FALLEN AND CAN'T GET UP " !!... E GADS.... that's an incredible amount but....
its a John Wright piece...he is like a living Beatrix Potter that is famous while he is still alive...hmmm, most painterly artists have to die before their paintings become of enough value that the artists could have lived on the wage....when they were still alive... That is a beautiful piece.
I noticed he always creates items that are already famous....he somehow gets the " rights " or buys the rights...to do the piece...anyone know about this?...Winney
OOPs again...Matthea. I meant to say Web Shots....have you got the link?...Winney
Kim..I have been SPYING on what you did to your collection on Picture Trail and you did an awesome job !!!....And what darling bears...couldn't be any cuter...love the fairies and elves and those beautiful dolls...what can I say...you are so gifted !!!
I agree.... it really looks easy to sort and just select..and they just added a bunch of new things. I wish they had some more twinkly music. to choose from .....some of their music is not appropiate for cute little bears.
I am working on putting my adopted bears in there right now...I haven't a clue what I am doing..lol...but must just jump in with all 4's...that my style, he. he....My brother made me a web site that will link there.....
If any of you have ANY tips Id sure be open to listening..... Winney
OOPs..I for got to say...I signed up for both....Picture TRail and Photo Bucket. I want to do some albums for genealogy photos too....that is a great way to share with family clear across the states or wherever...and they can order any prints they want.
I have a ton of photos and have some very old ones that may be the ONLY copy.I am hoping family will use my account to upload there old photos too.
Matthea....the original size photo sounds like a good feature for genealogy photos ...does it take a long time to download? I like the search option , especially when you get a lot of photos in there... How may photos do you get for how much money?...Winney
KIm Bee...Tell us why you like Photo Bucket...what do you get for how much ?....Winney
Anyone else here use Picture Trail.com to store their bear pictures at ? I know Kim Basta does... Winney
Very regal Scott..wonderfully unique bear...Winney
Oh Scott That bear of yours is awsome ! Is he a big one or a mini ? Is he a whaler ?... a beautiful Alaskan bear very authentic...and you are NEW...Yeah, we love new bear makers.. !!!! Welcome to Teddy Talk..you will love it here, there is soooo much to learn and everyone shares so much suff...this is a great bunch ...Winney
BRAVO SCOTT !!!! What a story....I know and feel what you mean...it is so true , many people just don't realize that their standard is soooo old fashioned and narrow minded...
I use to manage and train staff and clients in a work rehab. facility teaching skills and placing people on jobs within the community for 6 years...in fact I headed up to start the NEW part of the facility when no one had any idea on how to do it...I borowed a manual from Pearl Buck Rehab Center in Eugene , Ore.
The first thing I did was start a teddy bear making workshop and put a person that had the most to overcome to stitch them up...Why? because she really wanted to but did not have any confidence and she had a nervous condition that made her shake a lot.
I told her she could do anything she wanted to ! I would help her no matter what it took...and you know she did learn to sew and keep the seam at 1/4" . change a needle, etc...In the end she did a great job and blew the old fashioned minds to smithers.....Later I visited her at her home and her family was so proud of her..her sis bought her a machine... the rest is history...her success was so sweet. My best parts pinner was a guy that had palsy so bad in his right hand ...but somehow he managed to focus for just the right amout of time and then attack with a pin and get it in just right...amazing.
I got my clients brand new out of Salem hospital ..project 88 was in full swing. Many of my clients had never lived outside the hospital , they had profound disabilities so we had a lot to work on...extreme behavior problems, lots of medical problems..and so on....One thing which was great is.... I was as green as they were..LOL.
1 year BEFORE the state had any real information on just how to do this....we were very successful with this program, our placement was high but even better...the clients that everyone said had too much of a disability against them would become a failure. at their job......HA! So much for them...we proved them wrong because we worked with the clients as if they did NOT have a disability...and only focus on the positive !I think that after a few years those kind of comments died down as they begin to see the good results...and I am sure they were astonished.
The irony of this is after 6 years I moved back home to be with my family ....and went out to get a job managing the same kind of job....guess what I got for feedback ???" Sorry , you need a BA for this" Whaaaaa ???
And...Calif. was just starting their programs like this...I guess experience and facts of success in placing the clients and they kept their jobs...did not count for enough ...I swear ...no I won't, I figured maybe the Lord had other plans for me.
I will always remember the clients frustrations of not only their own disabilities but the ones that " normal " people shoved onto them.." you can't "...Id follow after them and say " don't' listen to them...yes you can"..... Winney
PS...I have to use spell check all the time...its great tool , I like to see how many I don't get wrong..or how many I can get right ...he, he.
Hmmm, which is my fav?...all of them !...Winney
Let me chime in here..."Help I'm on the computer at TT too much..somebody help me !!!! ITs hopeless..I get up early like 8 and if I stay on til I feel like Im done its gotta be noon ! So I watch the clock on the pC and I can stay on til 10...or....so...unless....no, it's 10! Here come the imaginary guy with the whip, get off that computer !!!!
OK. OK...so I go get a shower and dressed then do something till I tire and need a break...it is risky to go to TT.
I dont actually get back on til the evening ...most the time. I am trying to first ...read things that are of real important interest to me like Tips then MInis. then Discussion... I dont get thru all of it on each selection then I have to save that for later or evening IF I get back to it. So...I raed fast, he, he... really I thimnk this TT would be a problem for any bear artist...there is so much going on here and its fun too and friendly too and educational too
oh I know you get the point. I know some srtists that read but never type...then theres some that dont even try it...they get more bears done than I do, he he...So....I guess we need to save out BLOCKS of time to commit to TT or bears or house...there is no other way.....Winney
Beautiful photos...those flower are so blazing colorful, I have never seen that species.... just gorgeous !
Love the horsies...I wonder what in the heck do they do all day? can't find a blade of grass out there anywhere.
Your doggie look like he gets snowballs sticking to the fur just like my Muff does when it snows she seems to like to go out and snoop all around . Then after she is full of snowballs she must be copld so I have to get a towel and pull the balls off and dry her...silly girl.....
Hmmm, You all know...we are having global warming all over the planet. ....Winney
HI...I just got a first time ever e-mail from CR's ...they have added many NEW items and now you can request products for them to carry...Hey, didn't we just talk about how hard it was to get better quality synthetics to make bears for local sales ? Check it out......... http://www.crscrafts.com/Lobby.asp Winney
He does look like a stick bear from the 20's...maybe English or American ?...I will look thru some of my ID books and get back to you on it....Dennis Shaw or John Port could probably ID him ..look for them in one of the teddy magazines ....Winney
Sugar precious...sweet little bear. Making very small bears takes a lot of accuracy and petience..she is so very cute....Winney
Yeah Stephani...finally someone is going to carry colored acrylic eyes ! Yes, These will be especially great for knitted ,crochet and synthetic bears...even mohair bears. To make my acrylic eyes even safer on kids toys I make a hole in a round leather piece that is bigger than the eye, glue it to the back of the eye spot then install the eye...now, that will be a lot harder to wear off, pull off or bite off ...however use several strands of waxed thread if you are sewing it on..after knotting use some glue on the knot. You could even apply some glue to the back of the eye ...Winney
Hi Tami..I have made lots of synthetic bears and sometimes I do line them and sometimes I like the stretch...it can be used to advatage with some designs.
OK..so I line mine with thin ( cheap) muslin ..... using an office stick glue on the musline to tack it down..same as for real fur which dosn't give.. You can even use those dryer sheets...it is the SAME thing as Pellon.... Winney
Athenia...I sent you a private e-mail message......Winney
Hi Athina...I have been making real fur bears for years...I would love to do it for your husband !
All the bears turn out different , depends on the type of fur and fur length.
I do line all my real furs bears and soft stuff them to take stress off the old pelts, add weight.
See my avater, that is just one bear I make from mink furs...PLease e-mail me for other details... Winney
( Squeel ! ) Awwwww....He is soooo cute !!! ...Winney
Hi Clare...give us a link to the bear...Winney
Rats !...My husband use to forget all the time ..birthdays, anniversarys etc...so I got a huge calender and mark everything on there.... then highlight the events in yellow...so when ever he goes to the calender to see whats going on for the month he cannot miss these special days...
OK..do you think that works ? NO...He knows the event but fails to do anything about it...now, thats really unacceptable to me...but some men just don't feel the same way about these events the way we may...with a heart.
IT does really bother me..It hurts....I think a partner should celebrate their spouses being brought into the world as a blessing to them...go figure. Some people are just plain unthankful...spoiled..self centered...don't care to care ? I have found that if they were raised that way then they usually stay that way...holidays are just not celebrated with any enthusiasm...The female runs around doing everything so the tradition will stay in the family.
Do you remember when you were first dating ? Did he remember then ? Probably...as it was in the forefront of his head to please you...lots of men need emotional brain surgery , but not all. LOL
I think you have to tell them ahead of time how much it means to you...and if it doesn't mean enough to him to care to remember ...then perhaps he doesn't care about how it hurts you. I don't agree with letting anyone off of such important dates to remember...its not that hard to do it ..especially if its marked on the calender!
So what can you do to make up...for yourself ? If I get anything for OUR anniversary its out to eat..because thats what he wants to do...oddly if he did do anything for my birthday,..its out to eat. Give me a break ! Where are the gifts of love ? What did he do this year...a kiss and he said Happy Birthday.
Next time...before the day comes I will go figure out how I want to celebrate and make a point to get myself something and....go out to eat or to a movie !!!!
Sorry. but glad this subject came up....I guess what we need to really do is to sit down and talk with our partners and tell them how much being forgotten hurts us and get an answer from them on what they plan to do about it...
Anyway..Happy 44th Anniversary..if I were you Id go kick him in the butt.....Winney
