:3 The person who initially owned the fur (who is the 'subject' of the plush) was going to make a costume of some sort of character, but we didn't know what, unfortunately so we chose the phoenix. The person closest to him, a Dr. Samuel Conway, now owns this plush

Yeah, but she was also very difficult to balance off the legs, I'm just glad the person who bought her lives nearby, I guess when we took her to Chicago last year she was damaged. I will be switching out the joints in her now for new ones.

This is a 6 legged 'cattaur' that the creator of the species calls 'Chakats'.

This piece was created as a memorial piece for a friend of a fandom I belong to. The collar is symbolic of both his birthday (November birthstone) and his death month (February's stone is purple) and the poem and phoenix represent the cycle of life and death.

Shelli,
I'm in awe of your neat space - I've never finished unpacking from our move a year ago and don't know where half my stuff is now.  My work space is about 3 feet as I still have boxes piled in my studio that have never been unpacked because as I've said before - I can't do organization.  I've accepted that fact and I'll just relace stuff as I need it rather than go looking for it  bear_grin  If you had a thread for the messiest space, I'd win hand's down though

                                     hugs,

No way you would win. I win. I'll prove it.

Hi Rosie,
Here is a picture I took to show how to use the locknut & screws with hardboard disks.  They are very strong and would be hard to break.  You can replace the screw with a cotterpin and cullrthe ends of the pin like a snail on the inside of the arm/leg ,etc. (or curl like a crown joint -I'll look for a picture of that ) Hope this helps.

oh wow. I love you . seriously. This is the image people should use in their books bear_tongue

Amoryllis

yesh. and Since I have your attention, how about keeping heads on? I'm having a little bit of problems with the heads on the much larger bears staying on ._. have we got a cure for this? bear_tongue

Amoryllis

Are they a good choice to use, or do the thread joints or plastic ones work better?

Amoryllis

Eyes. I must be obsessed with these beautiful looking eyes, did you make these? bear_shocked

Amoryllis

I have a Kenmore, though for most of my bear making I just hand sew, its just been clothing I've been using the machine for (I've also been working on a fur suit)

Amoryllis

I'm definately interested bear_laugh I'll have a couple of bears to show there bear_original

Amoryllis

Oh wow...where do you guys purchase your beautiful furs? And the eyes? I can only find the normal looking ones but never these kinds bear_shocked
