Hello everyone
I have not been active on here these last times, I have been very serious (yes it happens ).I am writing a book of the old french maker FADAP.
I have been far enough to find informations, but today, the ones I am looking for are not easy to get because they could be find in the U.S.A
In fact, in 1954, FADAP worked in collaboration with IDEAL TOY CORPORATION. FADAP made a range of bears and other animals with the American manufacturer technic called "Slush Molding".
FADAP also imported from the USA a wonderful artificial silk (rayon) pink, yellow and blue colored. I guess, as FADAP was in contact with Ideal Toy Corporation, perhaps, there is a link to follow between Ideal and one of its artificial silk supplier.
I am looking for any information around this. I don't know if a book speaking of the Ideal story has been published, if so I may find some detail to hook up, let me know where I can buy the book.
Any information are welcome, even the smallest, even the ones that could sound ridiculous, don't hesitate to let me know.
In advance big thank you for your help
Best Wishes
Eric
  I tried that one but I gave up

I am very happy for you, I wish you success and I already am sure the readers will be able to fell how strong is your passion for the bear's world.
But there is a but... especially for the readers who do not know you....yet... They won't be able to hear your lovely smile through your articles
My very best wishes
Eric

Girls and boys try to celebrated it but Halloween celebration does not work very well in France for adults, it does not mean anything, it just means and sounds as a business day like :)I think the meaning of Halloween has been lost. Too many people think it's just a day to dress up and beg for candy. The truth is that Halloween began as a religious holiday.
"All Hallows Eve" is the night before All Saint's Day.
In Spain, Portugal and other Spanish speaking countries it is the beginning of the "Dia de los Muertos" celebration where families honor the spirits of their deceased relatives. The tradition of dressing up in scary costumes occurs because people wanted to scare away all the evil spirits so that the religious ceremonies could progress in peace.
Children beg for candy as a symbol of appeasement to the spirits. If you give something to the spirits, they will not harm you in the coming year.
Carving pumpkins and putting a candle inside is done so that the light from the flame can guide the spirits of our deceased relatives who have died in the past year so they can find their way to Heaven.
I always get a little bit miffed when people say that Halloween is just a Pagan holiday. Yes, it had its beginnings in Paganism but it has also become a very solemn Christian holiday. People who campaign against Halloween on the grounds that it is a blasphemous Pagan holiday don't know their own religion very well.
For the humans and Bears who live in this house, we enjoy Halloween but it's not a major holiday for us.
We don't decorate the whole house but we say a little prayer before we go to bed.
We carve our pumpkins and our Halloween Bears get excited when they get their picture taken.
We enjoy handing out candy and watching all the kids in their costumes. We live on a corner lot so we are on a good location to be a "Neighborhood Watch." In the seven years we have lived here, there has only been one very minor incident on Halloween. In short, we honor the significance of the holiday but we don't go overboard with it. We just have a little fun.
I don't know about other places but, in the USA, Halloween has become a party holiday for adults to get drunk and act silly.
In some places, there is more drinking on Halloween than there is on Saint Patrick's Day!
Oh my god I thougt Halloween meant allowed .
Halloween has never been celebrated in France as you do over sea. For us, halloween appeared there are 10 years ago that's all.
Girls and boys try to celebrated it but halloween celebration does not work very well in France for adults, it does not mean anything, it just means and sounds as a business day like
Anyway, Happy Halloween to you Jane and all that are going to celebrate it

ERIC...........do have a look at the North American Bear Center website (www.bear.org/website) - seriously, the bear is NOT terrified by this man (Lynn Rogers) - it's just a bit concerned by the extra camera ......
The center is dedicated to studying the bears and increasing everyone's awareness of of where the bears are coming from.
There's heaps of info and videos explaining their body language and volcalisations.........all to the good in my opinion. We've shared our world with these beautiful creatures for so long.... and I HOPE it can continue. It would be nice to think that the sad demise of Bruno, the young brown bear who wandered into Germany a couple of years back, and ended up being shot, wouldn't happen again......And MELISSA - boy am I jealous........here am I studying the bear "language" - and NO chance of my ever meeting a bear here!
huggies
Maria
Ok Maria I understand all of it and I also understand that in some point bears act as a guinea pig for scientifics but it's for everyone's awareness then I should be ok with this ?
Why would we not keep way from area bears are ? It is possible to put border somewhere, isn't it ? Why would we not keep something wild and natural in the 21 century ?
Humans always want to put their nose where they could keep it away
I know, we haven't got any bear in the french mountains, except a full hand of them in the Pyrénées and maybe some in the Alps. They cause trouble because people can't go anymore in the area bears are!!! tsssssssssssssssss
I guess in the areas where bears are common it may cause safety problems. I then could have a different view point if I was living a bear area BUT I am not lololol
Teasing Hugs
Eric
I have to say, it is strange, I haven't got any word to tell what I feel.
Feelings I have are mixed. Yes it is very nice to see this mummy bear that close but by another hand this mum is scared by the man.
What this bear shows us is how bears feel about humans which does not seem to be so nice.
This mum fight against herself she knows what are worth humans, but she does not attack.
I totaly disagree this kind of video because it scares animal. Today, technology is high enough to film animal hundred meters away without scaring them, without shocking them..... yukkkkkkkk
I would prefer not to be able to watch a video if I knew it would have been filmed scaring animals.
Humans : want want want want whatever may happen!!!!!
Eric
It is a beautiful animal, Manuela.
At the risk of sounding incredible stupid: what is a gypsy horse ?? (Is it a horse that belonged to gypsies? )
Hugs,
Peterbear
P.S. to Eric : I used to ride horses myself, though it would be more correct to say that the horses rode me.
lol Hiya Peter very funny lol In order to tease me the owner of the horse called me "John Wayne" (only because I had a cow-boy hat  )
Eric
When I first saw this picture I thought it was a chinese Roll'Spring in progress
Sure some of you are going to think I am mad which is not so false
Seriously, it is a nice picture, it was worth to tease a little bit
Eric
Lovely one !!! I love horses but I still have a very bad remember of the first time I ride one of them
Eric
His nose looks like a truffe that is the reason why in France we call dog's nose Truffe.
