I've just join today added you to my circle I know how to use Facebook haven't quite got the hang of this one yet.
I checked out your sketch blog like the blog especial like Day 21.Also your bear is a good attempt for a beginner who has never sewn before.he as a nice expression.
Nice colours love the feet and the style of the bear.
I agree with Peter I think the style is a Chiltern Hugmee and the period is 1950's
good representation of the Union Jack flag colours.and name you picked.nice bear.
You tend to use muslin material to pattern drape usual becourse its easy to drape over your form and you can then make a mock up pattern by pinning fabric directly on the form not sure how it would work on your sculpture you may have to judge by eye also make sure you allow for seam alowance on this or your flat pattern. you transfer the muslin outline and marking on to a paper pattern or use the muslin as the pattern and sew up as a prototype.hope this makes sense.not good at explaining.
Here is Thumper not such he is sticking with that name yet.
He is 10in(26cm)tall standing.
The design and pattern took me a couple of weeks to get to how I want him to look. he is hand stitch and is made of brown fake fur and the white fur as grey fleck. also his bunny tail is white fleck fur he as glass black eyes he has real suede pads with fleece backing and notebook weight card in his feet.
He as cotter pin head and nut and bolt joints. His head leans to one side as if he is listening out for something. but can look straight on his ears have brown velvet inside, also he as a tag in his left leg. This is my first showing of one my creations hopeful I will show more as they will all be for sale soon.
I also do a lot of pastel work. I like working in soft pastel and oil pastel. I like the composition of your painting. The painting as a nice soft feel to it.
I cut the pieces out fray check the seams, over stitch and back stitch seams by hand sewing.I can machine sew if I wanted but I seem to always make them by hand sewing.
What a Gorgeous little bear love the pot.I am sure they will do well for the charity.
Best Wishes x
