I'd like to swap links too, Kathy. As soon as I get to my computer, I'll send you the info. (I'm on my son-in-law's computer now.)
   I love it, Tina. I'm right there.
Sweet. sweet, sweet ! ! ! Congratulations, Cathie ! ! !
My first grandchild is going to be born Saturday (day after tomorrow) so I know how excited you must be.
The tree is looking quite beautiful, Tammy. So many clever, wonderful ornaments ! ! ! I'd like it in my living room, wouldn't you?
So many people participated this year. You are going to need two trees, aren't you?
Happy Anniversary, Mary ! ! !
Dave and I got married 17 years ago on November 2nd on a dinner cruise boat in the Oakland Estuary and cruised the San Francisco bay with our 45 best friends and relatives under a full moon. Hmmm, romantic.
We were both married before too.
My mom and dad will be celebrating their 59th anniversary this coming July.
WOW, amazing, Louise. He looks so real.
Great picture of your elf-bear, Tammy. I'm glad you took such a good picture of him because I didn't get a chance to photo him before he left on his journey cross-country and north to Canada.
Historical fiction and mysteries are my favorites.
I like the Jack Cavanaugh series about the Morgan family. The first book starts out with the Puritans coming to America to escape religious persecution in England and the series takes you through the generations up to the Viet Nam war era. I think there are 8 books.
Then there are the Patricia Cornwell books about a forensic pathologist and the Sue Grafton books about a female PI. Like those too. I also just finished John Grisham's latest book. Like his too.
Wendy, they're perfect and adorable. Your friend is a lucky duck for sure. Their wings look so real, like you plucked them right off of a butterfly.
Yea ! ! ! That was quick, Tammy. Good ol' USPS. I'm so glad you like him.
I finally got around to taking pictures of my tree . . . and my doggies enjoying the tree. Notice my treasured snowbear from last year's ornament swap made by Tracy Lee.
Jodi, you lucky duck, I love Pearl's bears. Can't wait to see him.
Oh, the ornaments are all adorable ! ! !
I just heard from Tracy. Her C-section has been scheduled for Dec. 15th. I just changed my flight to Tennessee from the 15th to the 14th. I'm sooooo excited. Less than one week ! ! !
Samantha, I guess the Dr. has decided that, according to ultrasounds, etc. she won't be physically able to deliver naturally. The same thing happened to me when I had her. I had a scheduled C-section. She didn't weigh that much, just over 7 pounds, but her head was too big for me to deliver.
To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - pet nose height.
Dear Dogs and Cats:
The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom. If by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years --canine or feline attendance is not required.
The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!
To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on our front door:
To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:
1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it "fur"niture.
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, they are an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.
Remember: Dogs and cats are better than kids because they:
1. Eat less.
2. Don't ask for money all the time.
3. Are easier to train.
4. Normally come when called.
5. Never ask to drive the car.
6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends.
7. Don't smoke or drink.
8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions.
9. Don't want to wear your clothes.
10. Don't need a gazillion dollars for college, and . . .
11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.
Congratulations, Ivuska ! ! !
Tracy called me this morning after her ultrasound appointment. Baby Sullivan is over 9 pounds ! ! !
Dr. told her that she had as much chance as her husband has of delivering the baby naturally (Her Dr. has a sense of humor, no?). So, they will call her later today to schedule a C-section.
What a BEAUTIFUL baby ! ! ! and an adorable picture of her first visit with Santa.
It looks like Santa is wearing a bow on his head.
Gail . . .
Well, I hope the baby doesn't arrive before I get there, but if he does, I'll be in an airplane somewhere between California and Tennessee IMMEDIATELY, before she gets a chance to take pictures. Also, if the baby arrives before the ornament, I think she'll be taking pictures of the baby and ignoring my ornament.
Wanda's dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told the repairman, "I'll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I'll mail you a check ."
"Oh, by the way don't worry about my dog Spike. He won't bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot!" I REPEAT, DO NOT TALK TO MY PARROT!!!"
When the repairman arrived at Wanda's apartment the following day, he discovered the biggest, meanest looking dog he had ever seen. But, just as she had said, the dog just lay there on the carpet watching the repairman go about his work.
The parrot, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant yelling, cursing and name calling. Finally the repairman couldn't contain himself any longer and yelled,
"Shut up, you stupid, ugly bird!"
To which the parrot replied, "Get him, Spike!"
See - Men just don't listen!
You LUCKY DUCK ! ! ! He's beautiful, a wonderful addition to any hug.
Wow, great ornaments ! ! !   This is so fun. Mine has been mailed and should be received by my recipient any day now.
I have asked that my ornament be mailed to my daughter's home in Tennessee since I'm going there on December 15th (to be there for the birth of my first grandchild  ). I told my daughter if it arrives before I get there, she is to take pictures of it and email them to me IMMEDIATELY . Exciting times, aren't they?
Christine, what a treasure. I'm sure this nativity will be displayed every Christmas forever. Beautiful ! ! !
Alas, my little ones are 28 and 23. I look forward to their little ones producing such wonderful art. (First little one is due in a couple weeks ! ! !)
Just curious, does your son go to a private school? The public schools here wouldn't let teachers have a project like this. It would have to be in a private Christian school.
Mine is finished and packed up for shipping. I'll take it to the post office tomorrow.
My recipient is going to be in for a surprise. She'll know what I mean when she gets her ornament. I'm hoping she doesn't mind.
I got mine from Tami too, and yes, adorable. Love it ! ! ! Thanks Tami.
