Yes, it sure is one ugly doggy!
I saw him on the news over here and it is so nice that his owner loves him and he has
someone to care for him. Must get a lot of stares, when out walking the dog.
Neat that the owner is proud enough to enter him in the competition in the first place.
It makes my dog Heidi look beautiful - We have a Giant Schauzner who has just undergone
a small operation to have a couple of small lumps near her ear removed. She is about 9 years old
now and has bounced back and is healthy again - lucky they were not cancerous -
but had us all worried for a time.

Oh Shari,
I was so sorry to hear that you have had a scam with someone wanting to buy your Bear.
I had a nasty man from Indonesia that did the same thing to me. He wanted to buy two of my Bears.
I checked with the bank re the credit card which they ok'd and then sent them off.
About a week later the address where they were been sent the courier said there was nobody there
at that address, so I said for them to send them back again. I was out of pocket by over $400
because I had to pay the return freight and also the Indonesian govt. had put a tax on them to
leave the country. The guy had used a fradulent credit card from someone in the USA.
So all in all it was an expensive lesson and I do not trust anyone now.
Your Bears are beautiful Shari and keep making them - hopefully the Bear market will pick up soon.

thanks very much for your advice Dilu - there is life for us, after puberty.
Yes, I think one needs to be patient and wait for the day when our darling teenagers, will be able to get over these stages. It is scary I know.
About the econonmy - our petrol prices seem to go up nearly every month. It is about
$1.40 a litre and has been said it could be as much as $2.00 by the end of the year.
I think we all need to go back to walking and push bikes.

Deb I think they are set to try us in our lives.
We have a 16 year old daughter who most of the time is very nice and can turn and for no
apparant reason can say something nasty.
I once heard it said that it is their way of cutting that cord a little so when they finally move out
it is easier for all.
And then there is our sweet little son Marcel 13 who is at boarding school and on Wednesday
he and an older boy were playfighting and they made a great hole in the wall.
The Master said he was very remorseful and he had offered to pay for the repairs out of his
allowance and he got to sweep leaves after school.
So there you go, as much as you would like them to be perfect they throw you a curve ball.
All fun and I suppose they keep us on our toes!
Keep up the good work and I know that deep down they really do appreciate all we do.

Hi Shantell,
I was phoned up a while back, by a guy who wanted a Judge Bear and he wanted it in
about 2 weeks. I was lucky to have a Gentleman Bear that I was able to make a
pinstripe suit and a white shirt and a silk tie. The gown I made was out of a taffeta material
and it looked like an old mans raincoat. So I ended up making another out of some very
dark navy wool.
It all came together very well and he was very pleased with it.
Even though it meant sitting up until quite late some nights I did get it finished on time
for the Ceremony where the guy was appointed a Judge.
Sometimes it is neat to do a special Bear and have to think about some special features.

Dilu, I can't believe that one of your lovely gollys went to someone and they never
wrote and thanked you for it.
Rest assured that they have taken your beautiful work ( you would have heard if they
had not received golly)and you have been paid for it.
So just get on and make more of your beautiful gollys, knowing that we all know they
are absolutely fabulous!

I have only just read of your terrible plight and like the others have said, there are a lot of crooks
out there that might want you to part with your money.
I suggest you get your lawyer onto the case and hope that they can sort it out because it is just

How neat that you have a new sewing machine - wonderful.
If you have not been able to work it out from the manual and have turned all the knobs and buttons - the best thing I would suggest is to taking your machine back and get them to give you a demo.
Myhusband bought me a Bernina for Christmas last year and the Lady at the shop was very helpful
and just gave me a demonstration which was helpful, as a lot of the newer machines
can be complicated to operate.

I was sorry to hear that your Bears did not sell on ebay. I put two on a while back and they did
not sell either, which can make you feel a little depressed.
Your Bears are really gorgeous and you just need the right person to come along and see them,
fall in love with them and then buy them.
Do you have any in your local shop - I have some at a Gift shop and get paid when they sell. Could be worth a try.
I know that things are a bit slow at the moment but chin up and get ready for Christmas.
