For artists and collectors sponsored by Intercal...your mohair supplier and Johnna's Mohair Store
Your storys are so interesting to read, thank you for sharing! I guess we all have a dream to be able to live on making bears. Hopefully many of you will make it out there, I believe in you guys!
Wow Lisa, your story is amazing! Reading your story makes me think "what the heck, If I want to I can do it!" You have a very positive attitude!
Penny, I think I rather live on chips too as I don't eat meat... not even teddymeat!
It would be fun to hear if any of you has an own company and actually lives on making teddybears, selling supplies or other things concerning teddybears?
Come on, tell me!
By the way, what kind of mohair do you use? It looks reeeeeally soft!
Indigo is wonderful! I really love the blue in his face!
Oh, they are so sweet together! The fabric looks so soft that I just want to reach out and touch the panda!
MANY MANY big thanks to you all! And many thanks to you Nancy for your nice words! I will not sell my self short anymore and TRY to think of my self as an artist!
I guess it's the Swedish "jante-law" who is making me think less of myself! Have you ever heard of that law? It's something that we Swedish people says we live under... and it means that we should think "I'm no better then anybody else" and never say that "I'm good at this" and so on .
We Swedes are nuts, huh?
Thank you for your nice words! I guess you always look at your own work with critical eyes, or is that only me? I see so many wonderful and creative artists on Teddy Talk and feel just too novice sometimes!
But I'm very happy to have won my first award!
Has anyone of you entered the Ace Award for this year?
I made an entry for this award (my first award ever!) and was very surprised when I found out that I was the "winner" of April. I guess this must be a very small award with few entrys 'cause otherwise I wouldn't had won )
Would be nice to hear if you guys has ever entered this award?
Wow, just wow How do you do your bears? They are amaaaaaaaazing!!
Verkligen gullig Sabine! You have done a great job!
This is Toby, he is a whimsical little bear with wornout socks. I have tried a whole new look with face, ears and chest made of cashmere and with weird looking eyes.
...his name is Billy and Bilbo looks after him all the time!
This is my first atempt to do a "baby bear"!
Ok, many thanks! Now I know what an anime bear is and I really have to try making one some day!
Silly question, I know, but what is an Anime bear? *looking stupid* I have seen many pictures here on the forum and they are awsome! But what does anime stand for and what makes a bear an Anime bear?
Wow..just wow!
Just made this bear for a lady who wanted a teddybear with the same name as her grandchild
He was suppose to be a girl but turned out to be both a boy and a hippie!
When I had finished the face the bear really did look like a boy, so I got the clever idea to give it pony tails to try to make it a teddybear girl..... but then it REALLY became both a boy and a hippie!
Well well, what do you know...
Oh I love her so much!!!!!
Yeah I know, it's sooo much to read here!
Hi by the way!
Hm.. what is the "forlorne" look?
Sweet as candy!
This time I REALLY went "copic marker crazy"!
So, this is Bilbo, he is about 30 cm tall and made of synthetic fur.
I tried some new techniques on this bear, like needle sculpting the eye sockets and made eyelids out of leather cording. Making this bear was such a blast and just soooo much fun!
The thing with the flexible ruler sounds interesting, I have to look that up! Thanks!
Thanks Shelli, I do feel better!
Earlier today I took a chance and ordered some eyes in the range of 10-13 mm after measuring my poor teddybears head, so I guess they will work fine. (I can tell you that putting eyelids on eyes - and for the first time! - and doing this on eyes that are 7-8 mm are not the funniest you can do!)
Thaaaaaank you!!
