It brill Jodi. Very colouful like you and your bears. I'm very impressed. Yet again it reminds me to get my finger out and do my new one! Well done.

Hello! I can't help with the Texas bit but I can tell you how I started. I made cuddly toys from patterns in my nans magazine but it was buying Jenniffer Laing's The Art of making teddy bears that started me off. Not a bad beginners one. I would say a two part body pattern helps at the start. Also someone will be able to tell you about the online courses they do. Good luck!

IMG_1675.JPGIMG_0678.JPGIMG_1682.JPGA very interesting thread. I first did a miniature around eleven years ago and then that was it until this time last year. The panda was made from mohair and my first pattern that I drew myself. I did a couple of minis but then gave up.

The second panda was a new pattern that I started with last year and the third panda I finished today.

As Vicki says (not this ebay bear, but usually) I list under the same as herself. Only trouble is its two lots of fees! Cheeky! I still think its hit and miss under what people look for.

Amanda

I can only agree with what everone has said. I'll be thinking of your family.

I can remember a tip from Penny. Place the cotter pin through or near to the front seam and not in the middle of the arm and it will turn in. Hope this helps.

Whats a fuzzy slipper night? I'm guessing gossip, chocolate and maybe a little nightcap and I don't mean hats! Drat I bet I'd be in bed or just getting up! bear_angry

Amanda

Love the colours Sam. We are in the same boat as I have'nt been making for a couple of months. Back to it now, good on ya!

Amanda

Oh no. This is awful. I knew she was not well but then something like this happens. Hopefully someone will post who knows Winney better, I know she had lots of friends. I quickly popped in (still no broadband!!!) to see what was happening. I once had a lovely email off her, and its so sad. Bless her and hubby.

Amanda

Hiya Sandra. I've not made a bear for ages and probably won't until Amy goes back to school. I know when I do I will have a few 'getting back into it' moments. We all started somewhere and I wish I had photos of my first creations, you would laugh!

It helped that I had the time and money in the beginning to push the bears forward design wise, but its not about that so much as getting what you want out of every bear, then moving on.

Keep at it, let those bears that you like inspire you and remember as long as you enjoy doing them, you are on to a winner.

I've tried to have a look but I'm on dial up (until I get broadband back) and I get too stressed waiting for the piccies. It does look good from what I can see. I hate dial up!!!! bear_angry

Penny there are some Eastern European builders just up from us, they are so funny. They work hard but have their own weird way of doing things. ie their way! When the house owner calls round it more entertaining than telly. I can hear the animated conversations three doors down. You have my deapest sympathy. May Terry rest in pieces. bear_tongue

Amanda

They work so well together. It looks like a mum and cub not just a big bear and a little one. Splendid!

Amanda

Lovely. It loads quickly too. Loved the little winking bear, very cheeky. I still have'nt done a new site but then I'm being lazy and not making bears.  bear_tongue I hope all the web changes have helped take your mind off greener issues. Good luck with it all!

It seems the most crazy idea to people when we say unlimited, no weighing. There is a lot of talk about how you relate to food as well. Its about freedom. I found I was so full and because I knew I could eat more, I did'nt. bear_wacko I've just had some stuff off the company today, new recipe books trhat are coming out. I'm no cook but the ideas are fantastic and they are going to do a big promotion to tell people about all the food we can eat.

If it helps a lady up the road was last years greatest loser, she lost just under 20 stone, 280lbs. Yes I have typed it in right! I've met her a couple of times and shes lovely.

Amanda

BANG!!!! Daft sod. bear_cool Sending some former KGB guys to sort him out!

Amanda

I think Slimming World is ideally suited to veggies. My friend lost 9stone with them on green days as she is a veggie. If you need to know anymore just ask, I lost weight on slimming world and have had my own classes for 7 years. Its a fab eating plan, although I'm biased!

I love quorn 'breaded chicken burgers'. Vecon is used in the recipes as its suitable for vegetarians but you can substitute any low fat stock.

Amanda

I can't say about internet sales but when I had a bear shop it was very popular. I was fairly relaxed about time etc and mostly it worked well. It could make a difference and I would be interested to hear what others have to say.

Amanda

Sending you good vibes. Knowing is half way to dealing with. I hope it goes well for you.

Amanda

She must be so excited. What a lovely talented girl. Brill!!!!!! bear_thumb

A veggie friend of mine lost 9stone (126lbs) on Slimming World green diet. I'm not veggie but I love the food choices anyway. A favourite of mine is large flatcap mushrooms stuffed with cooked cous cous or rice and then a little garlic on top and low fat cheese, cook in the oven for 10 mins or so and serve with salad. We have a meat substitute called quorn here and I like those products too.

You go for it and just don't go overboard on the bread and pizzas!

Amanda

This was in the British papers awhile back. What a corker! Hey Kim I'm allergic to rabbits too. Once we were looking after the nephew's and I obviously kept away from it, but still managed to have an attack. It was only in the same room for a moment and I had to put with hours after of having breathing difficulties. My husband jokes about the perfect murder, putting a rabbit in our room at night, I swear it would kill me! Killer bunnies!

Amanda

I think whatever peoples opinions its good to remind us all to read through our posts one more time before we press submit. We should'nt have to not say what we want but we need to remind ourselves sometimes we have to agree to disagree. Back to making bears tomorrow, I've been very lazy!
