I hope Terry's mum is going to be OK. Keeping everything crossed for you all.
This is tricky, as I've seen on a bad neighbour site I belong to, how these things can esculate. You could come from the noise angle, saying you have'nt been well and the noise makes you jittery. The thing is he does'nt see anything wrong in this, even though most people would. If hes really nice he would stop it to make you feel better. I would say have a word if you know he won't over react and go on the defensive and perhaps dredge up other issues. You could say you know they are only wild birds but when you have'nt been well they have been like little friends. Play the ditsey image up
.
Some of the poor people on the forum I belong to really have the most evil neighbours, who who think nothing of taking potshots at them and their pets!
Thats why I would tread carefully as with his wife being ill you don't know what could tip people over the edge. We don't want you making the evening news!
Did you read or see that man that bulldozed a couples home and cars and she was at home at the time. A right Looney Tune.
I think your neighbour is probably going to be OK but I can see why you want a few view points!
My friends grandson has this and he is only two. He caught a cold recently and you will know what that means. He pulled through and at least it builds his immune system up a little. Take care.
Thats how it goes Sophie, but remember, who says the others don't go brainless too! At least you can relax now.
Good luck Sophie. Remember to remind them you can bring a fresh mind and perspective to the project, it could be what they are after, not the ones who have already been there.
I remember your post, I really felt for you as I can tell you are close to your Pops. Its such lovely news and he can spend quality time with your mum too, I think its great!
How lovely! I've had such a funny negative week, from others its nice to read good news. Way to go!
I'll take my chances! I've noticed they are doing 250g bars now. I love the mint Dairy milk one, I like those Mingles too, lots of minty choccies. I am also partial to Nestle Wonks bars and Toblerone....
I've had a few funny days where other people were putting their stress onto me, friends falling out and me in the middle, so last night I had one (honest!) glass of wine, read some of my book and was looking at old photos of my grandparents and when I was little. Nice reminders of being young. I went bed a liitle bit more chilled out.
Jane I'm blown away!!!!!! He is just so fantastic. I can't wait to show AMy when she comes in from school. How long did it take you to do him? There is so much detail, love the eyes too. BRILL
My big bug has just gone off to the gym, but this has reminded me of something years ago. I catch spiders in pots and chuck them out too and when I first lived with my hubby I caught one and showed it to him as it was massive, he backed away and its then you know a little more of your other half , he hates spiders! Of course this meant years of tricks like throwing tomato stalks at him and shouting 'ahh spider', very immature but then I was young and my hubby is the most sarcastic person I know (very 'low' form of wit). His mother used to see a spider and would not move off her chair until his dad came in to catch it, she passed the phobia on. Of course all those years later and its me jumping on chairs as we had our mouse invasion last year. They do look cute, but not in my house!
My big bug is outside sanding down the woodwork so he can paint it. His latin name is Arachnidotherhalfous, his common name is Mark. He tends to come out when its hot and camaflagoues himself by going a dark brown colour. I've tried fly sprays and pesticides to get rid of him but they don't seem to work. I'm off to town soon to see if I can get a giant yogurt pot to scrape him up and put him in the garden! Here he is on the computer.
Look after yourself!
See you here soon, well not too soon! Look after yourself!
Whats in a name? Well this is an interesting topic. We kind of had a similar discussion when I was pregnant. We were not married but were probably going to, so we decided to give the baby the last name Withington. So when I did get married I changed it from Chell to Withington. I also had a brother with children so they kept up the Chell side for me. Now being older (not much wiser ) I don't hold too much over my name, I hate the use of Mrs and tend to use my first name even in formal situations. People seem to pick up the vibes because at doctors or hospitals they tend to ask for 'Amanda' not Mrs Withington.
I like Lanie's idea of having the two names. Loads of actors use one name for marriage, personal life, then have their stage or proffesional name. Its a thought!
Another thing that happened to me was my wedding ring. I don't wear it any more. I had one as well as an engagement ring ring but I've never been a ring person and over time it stayed on the dresser more and more. They are in the safe now. Some people say its one of their most important and special possessions, but not for me. It does'nt make me less married. I always thing its your little family unit (even without kids) that is important, so toss a coin if you have to and enjoy the next chapter in your life together!
Crickey! There was discussion about private auctions on here, some good points, some bad, but at least it stops low life like that!
Looks great Sandra. I love the bear too. I can't believe how quick you have developed your style. Good on ya!!
I was advised when on ebay.com to list in artist one of a kind and also artist other. It gets more coverage, well I hope so! Your price will be displayed in dollars but there are no problems there as people can pay in any currency and you can have it in pounds too if using paypal. It really is very simple, email if you need to know more.
Ok so I might of missed something (being out of the bear loop so to speak) but has anyone seen our Melly in is it Teddy Bear Scene? There is a fantastic article even if I still don't know what she looks like! Anyone got a copy to scan in here? Mel let us know more!!!!
I'm like the Queen in that I have my actual birthday, June 18th and then the million and one excuses why I should eat, have my own way and buy what I want 'because its my birthday'. My husband says I have a birthday week.
:bday: :cake:
Jenny I know someone years ago who at a fair bought a well known artist bear and was not even embaressed to say she was going to unpick it to copy the pattern! Mind you I always found the lady in question a little lacking in the morals department, there was other stuff too that she did. The less 'nice' side to bear making and selling.
Yay Happy Birthday to you!!! :bday: :cake: My dad every year says 'it was a red hot day when you were born', that was 1968, mind you it was hot last year, hopefully its nice where you are. So have a good one too.
Well done. It must be a fantastic feeling. Look forward to the photos! :photo:
Which ever way you look at this, its stinks!!!! At least your integrity is intact.
I would get the Elves to do feetpads, so fiddly. My daughter got chickenpox from school friends when she was about seven. She did'nt have them too bad and soon got better. My husband and I had gone out for a Saturday lunchtime drink and he was feeling a bit off. Then I saw a spot! My mother-in-law said its can't be as he had them when his brothers did. She was forgetting that his brothers were teenagers when he was born so he missed out. Its no fun at any age, but better when you are younger.
