......Be Spring??????
I can usually be heard saying "it's not July yet, can't complain about the weather" Well, I AM complaining today. Woke up this morning to another gray, cloudy yucky day..... Temperature is at 20 F. I love winter, snow, and accept the cold weather in winter, but it is April isn't it? Shouldn't it be getting warmer, sunnier, trees budding, flowers coming up? I look out my window, the poor robins have no worms to get because the ground is still frozen, the grass is brown or covered in snow, the trees are bare.....AND there is a Winter Storm Warning for tomorrow....up to 6 inches of snow/sleet........ I am just sooooo depressed.
Oops, sun is actullay up at this time, looks nice, maybe I will put on all my woolies and take the dog for a walk for I probably won't tomorrow if this storm comes in!
Thanks for letting me vent......Ellen
Tammy...........taxes are such a pain in the ---. I buy all of my supplies tax-exempt, so at the end of the year, I count all my fur, all my cotton (for outfits) all my ribbon, all my eyes, joints, threads......everything, figure out the estimated cost and add it to my list of inventory, as well as all my sales and other expenses and income, give everything to my hubby who gives it all to the tax man, and HE puts all of it on the tax forms! My dad asked me why we did not do our own taxes! HA fat chance! I started taking my fur inventory in January as I started making other animals for 2007........................
take a deep breath, have a drink, smile and start your organising/inventorying/counting/calculating........When all is done.........breath a sigh of relief, have a HUGE drink, smile and dance that it is done!

We had a white Easter her in the north.....no white Christmas, and this is the first I remember going to sunrise service where it was snowing! only a few brave souls turned out for the 6:15 outdoor service, which was cold, but nice! Just south of me, they had a foot of snow on Easter Sunday morning!
Ellen
Thanks everyone! I will send the information you have shared to this guy... ....I wonder where he got my address from? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
.......glad he did, hopefully he'll look further at my site and order something from me!

I recieved an email from someone asking about a company called "The Fuzzy Bear Company" 12345 Lake City Way, Suite 198, Seattle Washington 98125. Apparantly this person purchased a bear from them and can find no information about them, so he sent me an email asking if I knew the company, which I don't, so I am asking here,
Does anyone know about The Fuzzy Bear Comapny from Seattle, WA? Are they still in business, do they have a web site? I did a search and got no hits.....
Thanks for any input you may have.
Ellen
Very interesting subject.....certainly has a lot of "weight" to it! Being on the other side from most of you, I have to add my 2 cents worth. Personally, I do not like weighted bears......I like my bears to be soft and cuddly. Each of the bears I make has it's own personality brought out by their face, positions, color, etc. I have a few weighted bears, and they tend to just sit on the shelf, the other bears get picked up and hugged (they all get talked to)

To answer your quetion Cat, somedays I drink about 8 glasses of water, other days, only 2....but I am always drinking something, water, juice, iced tea or hot tea....right now I am drinking a "Smoothie" for my lunch.
Thanks for all the prayers. I did get onto a PBC chat page, haven't seen too much activity there yet, but I am sure it will start up soon.
Thanks for the links....I did get most of the inofrmation I have now off the mayo site. They tend to tell you sympotms, which I don't have.....but they do tell about the disease which sounds really scary, hopefully this chat page will ease the scare............

I have been going through lots of blood tests because of elevated Liver Enzymes. My doc. finally did a Liver Biopsy last month, and after a second opinion, I have been diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. I am doing as much research as I can to find out as much as I can about this (rare) disease. What I have learned so far, is that I am in the very early stages. It is a vey slow progressing disease. Medication helps slow it further or even halt it's progression.
The not knowing, never having heard of the disease.....that is the scary stuff. I feel fine, which most do. But, this diagnosis might explain some other things that have been going on. If you know anything about PBC, let me know where I can look to get more information.
Thanks,

As I sit here on my computer, temperature outside is a warm 14 degrees F. Snowstorm expected tonight until Sunday with about a foot of the white stuff expected. The snow we had all melted in the last few days because temps were near 50 degrees. There are 3 Robins hopping around the yard right outside my window, looking for the early worms.... oopps, now there are about 8 starlings there also.....Spring is on it's way. But, I have to remind myself where I live and that Spring, although the sun is warmer and brighter, is still a long way off......

Andy has been in WA for a while. My daughter has to keep him hidden from the dogs.....plus she came out for Grandpas funeral, so she hasn't taken him many places, I have to keep reminding her. But Andy is happy and resting....occasionally, I'm sure, getting into mischief, like painting on the walls! I hope she takes him up the mountain when she goes snowboarding! guess I will email her and remind her to do that.....if she has time, she has started taking a lifeguarding class, maybe Andy should go there and get rescued..........probably not, chlorine pool water would not do him too good.....

Andy is in Spokane, WA visitng my daughter. He is helping her paint the inside of the house. She sent me a picture, don't know if I can get it on here, but he painted his name and date on the wall, and looks so proud of himself!
Andy started out in Burlinton Vt., then went to New Hampshire, Florida, Texas, California, Oregon and is now resting in Washington. I have asked Tina to hold him there for a bit while I get updates.
From the original responses to his journey and requests for stops, he should be going to Laurie in Wisconsin next, but I see she hasn't posted anything in a while. I did email her. Then to Marilyn (Quilts N Critters) in Ohio, but I can't find her information to email her. ( I bought a new computer and can't find half the things I need!) Then Robyn ( Paints N Minis) in NJ, but I haven't heard from her after an email. If anyone knows anything about these people, please let me know.
So, I am opening up Andy's journey again for anyone (in the US or Canada) that would like him to visit. He is out spreading the word about Moon Bears and collecting souvernirs. Anyone interested in hosting Andy for a week or two, drop me a note (PM or email) and I will put you on a new list.....I would like his journey to begin again on April 1.
Thanks to those who have already hosted Andy and for those who would like to host him in the future.

I use a place just north of Syracuse, NY. They have a website, northwayacres.com, but they don't have a lot of Teddy Bear supplies posted on it. You can get the phone number and call them. They are quite helpful and quick to send things to me when I call.................

Snow is wonderful stuff.....beautiful after it falls and you can see it in the sunshine. Pain in the butt when it falls because you have to clear off driveways and sidewalks
....no sooner do you finish the drive and the plow comes along filling it all back in!
Then comes Spring and warmer temps when it starts to melt and you get mud, mud and more mud (great for teh kids that like to make mud pies!) and flooding (flooding prdeictions are out for areas in New York that got the 12 feet of snow)
Personally, I probably would not live anywhere else but in NY because I like the change in temps. and the snow, the only thing I don't like is the bitter cold........I decided several years ago, after visiting Florida in the winter, that Anyone can live in Florida.....but it takes some one with Guts (or is crazy) to live in Central or Northern New York!
Very nice pictures Tracy.....we have maybe 2 feet accumulation on the ground......

I have a fancy dress that has bloomers with it. My cheerleader outfits have panties with it, other than that..... bear is bare!

Thank you all. His passing, in my opinion was a blessing. At least i know he is in peace and comfort, sitting in Heaven with 4 of his 5 brothers telling jokes and doing things........

Thank you all for your prayers for my Father-In-Law last month. I just returned from his funeral. He passed away on Saturday afternoon in the final stages of Renal Failure. The funeral was nice, lots of people, he and Mom were Ball Room Dance instructors for about 35 years, plus all the cousins. My 2 kids came home for the service, and I got to see my Brother-In-Law's Daughter (from his 1st marriage) and I haven't seen her for about 5 years....got to meet her 3 boys ( one a 2-month old) It has been a long, exhausting day.....Thanks for all the prayers in the past, just wanted to give an update that he is now in a better place without pain.
Thanks,
Ellen

Thanks for the link Tammy.....some day I will get to Nova Scotia.........at least I can listen to DRUM! on the web!
pandamac
Thursday night my hubby and I went to see a show called DRUM! It was fantastic. it is basically a history of Nova Scotia told through the music that each group of settlers brought. The rhythms and sounds were so exciting! Has anyone else seen this show?

Winter has finally arrived. Enjoy these pictures I took yesterday when the temperature started out at (-19 F) Heat wave today....up to +18 F! The first picture is of the trees above the falls at the power dam. 2nd picture is of the frozen pond, the 3rd is Ti enjoying the snow.
Think I might go out again with Ti and play some more!

I have arthritis in my left hip. Tried Glucosomine, didn't seem to do much. Aleve worked only part time.
I started taking Water Aerobics 2 days a week....
WOW!!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! My doctor took my leg to move it and noticed a big difference. I do not, except occasionally, take Aleve or anything else.
The pain is still there some, but for the most part the pain is gone.  The worst is when I twist the leg................like when I took the dog for a walk and slid on the ice....we came home immediately!
Good luck finding something that works.....when you do, stay with it.

  Thank you everyone for your support and prayers. I don't know a whole lot more.....but I believe the feeding tube was removed and Dia;ysis continues. David will not travel the 2 1/2 hours to see Dad for himself. Says that although Mom is very concerned and down, Ron is more positive and upbeat, so he doesn't see the need to go down and do anything! AAUUGGHH! I get so frustrated with him...... I would want to go and see how things were for myself, ask questions, let Mom know I cared......i just don't understand him not going. he will be winter camping this coming weekend with his 9 buddies, so no trip there, then a week of work and he's on call the next weekend......... I don't know if I should force the issue and make him go, or just leave it as I have been, letting him decide.....
Thanks for letting me vent my frustration with my hubby!

My Father-In-Law has been sick for a long time. He has diabetes and has been going for Dialysis for many, many years. He is now in the hospital, undergoing testing, with a feeding tube. Things are not going well....Mom heard them say they would try what they are currently doing for a week, but if that did not turn him around, that would be it! My Brother-In-Law says it a little different.........We have been here many times before, this time it looks much more serious. and we don't know what to expect. So I ask that you keep Lester, Marie, Ron and David in your prayers. (also the spouses, Joy & Ellen, grandkids, Megan, Aaron, Tina and Theresa.) Lester is 82 years old.
Thanks...........hopefully I will return next week with some good news.
