Wow they look fantastic!!!!!

Pipa

Hi Lynette,  It sounds like our wrists are complex joints huh ?? i've been thinking about going back to see the Dr about mine see what they can suggest (if anything) thankyou for the link and all your (and your sons) help, the Dr's haven't done any specific tests to check for Carpal Tunnel (even though i told them all of my mothers side of the family have Carpal Tunnel. she has 6 sisters and 1 brother) i figured if they all had it (as did my grandfather) they would test for that first but apparently not LOL!!!

SusieSide2.jpgHi Evreyone, well i finally got the yorkshire Terrier finished (from Lisa Pay Pattern) and i've decided to keep her for myself i will just have to make my Aunt another one for her xmas present he he (lucky for me there is enough supplies left for another one so i get to keep this one. i'm too attatched to part with her lol) anyways i named her Susie and Lisa's pattern was really easy to follow aswell ! enjoyed it and the dog is a lil cutie ! She's only 6-7 Inches tall

Pipa

he is adorable and his open mouth makes it look like he is chuckling and giggling, bear_original love him!

Pipa

Thanks for sharing the photos. so lovely to see the show!! it would be amazing to be there for real and see all those bears in the fur !!

Melanie - i absolutley LOVe your blue & white bear at the front of your display!! So cute!!!

Pipa

Yep such sad news today!! He had a vast amount of knowledge about the animal kingdom, tragic loss to his family who i am sure will be devastated, Him & Terry always seemed like such a very very close loving couple and the same with his 2 children, So sad !!!!!

Pipa

Sorry to hear about your pooch Jennie, Rasmus your bear is wonderful

Pipa

oh they are beauties. if i lived in the Us i would take them, i hope they find a loving home that will take them both together!

Pipa

it looks great Heather loads nice & fast. love the colour. pleasing to the eye! bear_original

Pipa

Welcome to the forum Donna, it sounds like you do wonderful work there buying & donating the bears to worthy causes. there's no surer thing to bring a smile to someone than a teddy bear!

Pipa

lol Shantell, it sounds more like a lethal weapon that Hot Glue huh

Pipa

WOw that sounds like a really painful experience. i am defintley no going to use hot glue, i'm going to look in some craft shops for some craft glue that is designed to hold material together without the risk of any burns or anything. that stuff sounds pretty dangerous huh!

Pipa

Good luck to everyone who entered, i cast my vote, altho hard because all the bears are wonderful lil creations!!!

Pipa

Thanks for the link Gaby, i will take a look at that, i dont have Carpal Tunnel but i have been looking for some wrist excercises to do and my mother has bad carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands (and being a carer she can't have surgery so this book might help us both)   i'm going to order this and see if it helps, we're Willing to try anything non surgical! :)

Pipa, now, I was checking the internet for the excercises against carpal tunnel syndrome, since I know that waiting for a surgery in UK can let you look old.
I have that funny thing too and I take vitamin B6 pills for the nerves- because actually they cause the pain.
And I was given a booklet with training but ... ...dunno where I put it.
There is a book that sounds interesting:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/187806 … 63?ie=UTF8
sorry, that has nothing to do with mohair, but I thought I´d let you know  bear_grin

Gaby :rose:

Pipa

LOL Lynette. ooh i seriously seriously appreciate everyones help  i really do bear_original you girls here everyone is just superb !! you couldn't wish to meet a friendlier helpful bunch  bear_thumb
I've got some wrist supports that i wear (sport wrist supports, is that like the ones you sell ??) but the specialist told me not to wear them all the time because my joints will come to rely on the support instead of the muscles (i don't have Carple tunnel syndrome, i have something wrong with the tissue around the wrist joint and some other babble that he told me would need surgery which i won't be hving anytime yet, i had a extremley painful Steroid injection into the cavatiy of the joint and since then it's been worse than it was before the injection and after 7 months has still left a peculiar looking mark like  a bruisearound the injection site GRRR! (hence the reason i am starting my gift making early so i can do a little bit at a time)

i think next year..i am going to ban xmas LOL

fredbear wrote:

Pipa, you should get the wrist braces I sell ( hahaha you must think I am trying to bankcrupt you !!!!)
they help prevent carpal tunnel syndrome , anyone using a repititive movement is in danger of this work injury.
I have sent a pair to Judy who testing them for me.
Lynette

Pipa

lol Gaby i would never glue a bear  they are way too precious for that  bear_grin
food pressies would be a good idea but i'm a lousy cook, *sigh* i will get these daft ideas in my head !! Still,, i suppose i've got  3 and a bit months bear_happy

Pipa

Eww thanks Melanie Jayne, i think i will skip on the Hot Glue and just use some other normal craft glue like you suggested bostick or super glue or fabric glue

as a last resort sew the  hat to his head  bear_original

Pipa

Ooo thanks everyone for the help on Hot Glue, I found a pattern to make a prim snowman head thing that you hang on your doors or wherever, i want to make one for my friend in the USA who loves prim stuff, but it says you need Hot Glue to glue the snowmans hat onto his head (his head will be made out of muslin and the hat out of wool) I was wondering if any craft glue would be strong enough super glue maybe. or i could sew it on i suppose but glue would be easier.. i don't want to get burn or end up with a gooey mess :/

I seriously think it would be easier to BUY gifts this year instead of trying to make them all  bear_rolleyes

Pipa

doe anyone know what Hot Glue is ?? And have you used it? is it good, does it just come in a stick like super glue? would super glue be just as effective ?? where do you buy it ??

Pipa

he is ever so cute!!!!! what a little cutie pie!

Pipa

oh no how dreadful !!!!!! My thoughts & Prayers to everyone who knew Winney & Winney's Family !!

Pipa

Thanks so much Carolyn, i can't wait to get started, i wish my supplies were here already bear_happy I will defintley show piccies when he/she is done (if i'm not too ashamed of it haha) I ordered a dog nose from beary cheap which will save me stitching the nose (i've got wrist problems that need surgery so the least sewing i have to do the better) and Lisa's pattern only has 1 joint!! woopie! ilove that!! jointing puts alot of pressure on the wrist turning the pliers to curl down the cotter pins is hard
i'm hoping it will come out looking like a yorkie LOL!!!

Pipa

Thanks for your help Lynette! i got some from Gerry's "Gold" and "black" i'm not sure if the gold is going to be too goldy as my Aunt's yorkies were more the silvery/grey colour you get on yorkies but i will have to wait and see how gold gold this mohair form gerry's is, if it's too gingery gold i'll have to look for something else bear_sad
