I got my surprise! Woohoo!

Am I the first? My partner really outdid herself. I got a beautiful tote bag, two gorgeous greeting cards, and a lovely crcheted cap. Each item is wonderful and I am just delighted with all of them. Thank you Pauline!!

I've also put photos in the Showcase, but here is my wonderful surprise from Pauline Valewood Bears.

I've been waffling about this, but it was a lot of fun last year so sign me up too please!

Bonnie

I started mine right away, way back when the original thread started, thinking I would get a head start on it, but it did not turn out at all so I had to start over.  bear_sad    So I am still working. nearly done though!.

Bonnie

Me too please.  I can't believe how fast Christmas is approaching!

Bonnie

Great article Amy! The recipes sound yummy and the food looks delicious! You are lucky to have a hubby that cooks.  I wish mine would just help with the dishes!  bear_laugh  bear_laugh

I hope your furnace is fixed soon! It can't stay above 40 for much longer in Milwaukee in November can it?

hugs,

Bonnie

I got a lot of inspiration in my in-box today and wanted to share with you all:

Great advice I wanted to share it with you!

1.) Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate antidepressant.

2.) Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

3.) Buy a Tivo (DVR), tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4.) When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, "My purpose is to___________ today."

5.) Live with the 3 E's --  Energy, Enthusiasm, Empathy.

6.) Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did last year.

7.) Always pray and make time to exercise, practice meditation, yoga, Tai chi, qigong, etc.

8.) Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of Six.

9.) Dream more while you are awake.

10.) Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less foods that are manufactured in plants.

11.) Drink green tea <http://sandrarosenews.blogspot.com/2007 … ly_23.html> and plenty of water. Eat blueberries <http://sandrarosenews.blogspot.com/2007 … ly_23.html> , wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

12.) Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13.) Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and flowing energy into your life.

14.) Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead, invest your energy in the positive present moment.

15.) Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class ......but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.

16.) Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

17.) Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.

18.) Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

19.) Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20.) Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21.) You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

22.) Make peace with your past and LET IT GO so it won't screw up the present.

23.) Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

24.) Ladies - Go on and burn those "special" scented candles, use the 600 thread count sheets, the good china and wear our fancy lingerie now. Stop waiting for a special occasion. Everyday is special.

25.) No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

26.) Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"

27.) Forgive everyone for everything.

28.) What other people think of you is none of your business.

29.) Time heals almost everything. Give time, time!

30.) However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

31.) Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch with them.

32.) Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.

33.) Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

34.) The best is yet to come.

35.) No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

36.) Do the right thing!

37.) Call your family often.

38.) Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: "I am thankful for __________."
Today I accomplished _________.

39.) Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

40.) Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and you certainly don't want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so make the most of it and enjoy the ride.

"Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day.
Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so
many tomorrows." Michael Landon

I'm popping kinda late here but this thread really struck a chord with me. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one struggling with distractions and productivity issues! At least I'm in good company.  bear_happy

I can't really offer anything new that hasn't already been said but I'm enjoying the suspense here.
I'm rooting for Charming! A creative neighbor and chocolate too? 'nuf said! Plus a little bustle is a great thing sometimes.
I have to go about 70 miles to get near anything resembling bustle around here, so that sounds appealing to me.

As for price.. I know overhead must be kept under control but, well how much is a creative atmosphere worth?

Good luck, can't wait to see what you decide!

Bonnie

Very cool!

Bonnie

Yep, Lisa you did get a whole page! Yay you!

Shelli wrote:

I was also really excited to see some work from artists with whom I'm less familiar -- or don't know at all -- who are cranking out some really cute little bears.  The more the merrier!

I agree!  ADQ is always chock full of creative, fun, funky, and beautiful creations ~I love art dolls~ but it was really great to see so many wonderful teddies there  too! bear_thumb

Bonnie

There I was, browsing the magazines in Barnes an Noble, blissfully soaking up the coffee aromas wafting about, flipping through the latest Art Doll Quarterly and what did I find suddenly find gazing back at me from the pages but a cute little Potbelly Bear!  Flip the page and there was a delightful creation by Aleta and no less than three of Lisa's adorable Twin Cubs Bear! They were all part of an article titled "Answering the Call: Artful Teddy Bears" and it was , as always, a fun treat to see creations of fellow TTer's in print.    Way to go ladies!!

edited to add: There may have been more TTers in this issue. I definately didn't mean to slight anyone!  Lisa, Aleta and Shelli's bears just jumped out at me as I flipped through the pages. If I did miss anyone  I sincerely apologize and hope you speak up so we can applaud you too!

hugs,

Bonnie
