I'm also in agreement with Us Bears.  Their demands are outrageous.
If at all possible..leave!

danceswithteddybears

I agree, try to take a course, even a short one.
I've taken several through the years, with film cameras, and learned a great deal, on light and composition..two biggies.
I've been involved in photography since I was 12, and love it.  It broadens creativity.
Shoot often and everything.  The more you shoot the better you'll get and the more comfortable you'll be with your camera.
And yes, those buttons can drive us all crazy.  Put your fingers in the wrong place and presto-chango.
Just have fun!

I'm following!
My blog is about everything under the sun.  I started with just bears, but somehow it just took on a life of its own.
I love to blog, I'm completely and utterly hooked.

Looks like a fun project.  I have no knowledgable input, sorry, but I am intrigued.  I think Donna's recommendations are good.
Keep us in the loop!

..The falling down the stairs gang.
I think Katy was last to do aerobics down a flight of stairs.
Tonight it was my turn.  I think I missed a step, then I missed 6 more.  We girls can really scream!
Big big ouch.  Very bruised and numb, but so far that seems to be the extent of it.  Tomorrow will tell.
What saved me from getting more injured was the full-length fur coat I was carrying.  I was bringing it down to make a bear from.
So, I guess a teddy-bear-to-be saved me.  Gotta love the teddy bear!  bear_flower

Me two, too...Thanks Edie!
I've been thinking about Bear Pile but wasn't sure how they worked, and billed.
As Laura Lynn said, a no brainer.  I can do that!  bear_grin
Thanks!

Please do Laura, it would be fun!  There are a few more of us out here.  Arizona seems to be a hot bed of bear people it seems.  Someday maybe we will all get together.

Hot bed, indeed!
And getting hotter every day..  I just hated the summers when I lived there.  bear_tongue

Just a guess here.  I looked more carefully at your bear, with "the knitted part" in mind.
All I can think of, besides the nose, which I can't see her meaning, is the area on face where you trimmed/plucked the mohair right down to the backing..the backing that shows may look like it's been knitted on, to your customer...Not me!  But if she's really a bear collector she'd understand what's what on a bear's face.  This knitted thing tells me she knows nothing about collector bears.
I think you've handled the situation well.  I'm glad to hear you're not agreeing to a return.  The bear is adorable, by the way!!!  bear_wub

Way to go!   Congratulations big time!

Glad to know all this.  I have only one box left.
I'll be calling that Walmart number tomorrow!

I agree, you all look great!  And what fun!
If I ever get down to Phoenix to visit my sister, I'll surely let you know Joanne.  I'd love to meet you!
Jenny, you're too funny.  I hide my face with a really big hat!   bear_happy

Matty-McWeebundle-1sm-res.-72.jpgAfter lots of trial and error I finally came up with my version of an anime bear.  And I'm still tweaking it.
The key, for me, is a four-part head..two side pieces, a gusset and a back.  I tried to incorporate the back into the side pieces, but I lost the shape.
This is one of my wanna-be anime bears.  bear_original

I can relate, Rinn.
I worked several weeks on a pattern design that was wandering about in my head.  I finally got it how I wanted and made a prototype.  I was pleased with the result.
Not long after, while checking out the artist bears on ebay, there it was.  The bear was very similar to what I'd worked so hard to make.  I was not a happy camper.
Do I continue to make my new design, since it came straight from my imagination, or abandon it?  And perhaps the next design I create, etc...
I too worry someone, at sometime, will accuse me of stealing. I've read of this problem right here on TT.
I think most any design any of us come up with has been done before.  Still, copyright infringement has made me paranoid.  I'd hate to have anyone think I was copying.
I know I'm not alone in my thinking.

How wonderful, Susan!  Thanks for sharing the great news!!!

Never underestimate mohair's beauty as teddy's suit.

danceswithteddybears

I never use pins, the fur slips too much.  I use alligator clips in various sizes.  They really hold the fur in place.  Then I do a quick baste, then backstitch one side of gusset to eye position then the other side.  Then backstitch the rest.  I don't tack, I find there's still some fur movement.  For me basting is the best.  And I couldn't live without alligator clips!
