Hi Guys wow i have missed so much, i wanted to wish you all a great 2011 and i hope everyone had a wonderful christmas.
Things have been hectic itfeels like forever since i came here and had a chat.
I am glad 2010 is gone for all the people that gave me and my family support when we had to leave our wooden house here in portugal we have just been granted another 6 months from the letter we put in back in June, so we have been renting all this time for no need..... so we are going home yippeee!!!! then go from there even if we have to put a mobile home on our land and still take down the house.
I had also been busy selling bears are craft fairs here and a few commissions which has been great and i made a little bear for my grandson who we finally got to see at Christmas but now due to my job being terminated i am now set up on my own here in portugal here is my web just so you can be nosey www.essentialtherapy.webs.com so busy promoing and hoping and thinking postive for 2011.
Oh yes and we have just taken on another yes another rescue dog called Rum that makes 5 now .....NO MORE!!!
so i wish you all the luck in your bears and any other ventures you have planned for 2011 but most of all i hope you remain healthly
big hugs and love
Susan

Hi everyone, been a few months that i haven't been on here, anyway i just wanted to add to the discussion.
i have been making bears and for a few years but i have kept my prices low making sure i cover the cost on the material and then a little something for me, certainly not the full amount of hours of work that i have put in. anyhow i belong to a craft group here in portugal and we all make different things and we all have one problem before we even start making our craft..... importing, we have to import everthing in as you cannot get anything here and if you are luckly enough to find what you need the prices are about 4 times what you would normally pay. So back to the question i would love to charge more but i have to be realastic and make my bears with the enjoyment that i get from doing it and i have to say that in the last 3 months i have sold 8 and have just finished a commission, the sales are from doing craft fairs and getting my name out with visitors here on holiday so promoting and promoting. I am surprized at how many i have sold recently and really pleased and i will continue to keep my prices the same for a good while yet and hope more of my little creations go to new homes.
hope i haven't babbled to much and i think all our work should be valued, and i think all our situations are different especially if this is your main job.... lets wish for a better 2011

Hi Shelia
i am sorry to hear that this is happened and i wish you a full recovery.
i wanted to let you know that i am a therapist (beauty/body) one of my treatments i do is a non- surgical face lift.... yes this is cosmetic but this machine was invented for people that have had a stoke or Bells and what the treatment does is re-educated the muscles of the face or body which is still used medically today so if you do and i hope you dont have any lasting effects there are options. If you want anymore info on this send me a message i would be pleased to explain more.
once again i am wishing you a full recovery and maybe try yoga its great you can do it in a group and at home when you need to.
hugs Susan xx
