Simple and gorgeous!  Love him!!!

ConnieB

Beautiful face!   And that fur is very unique!

Thank you everyone, for taking the time to post a comment about my bears.  It means so much!  I wanted to mention that the mohair for the pink and the cream bears are purchased from Intercal.  The cream is Quality 785H - Color 5825D-Cream/D.  The pink is Quality 910H - 5918D-Antique Pink/D.  It looks different if you brush it out.  I chose not to.  The orange is hand-dyed by me and I don't remember what I started out with - something short and sparse.  Thanks again!

ConnieB

I close the limbs and attach to body then attach the completed head last.  I save the head for last  because I do alot of styling on the fur and I don't want it or the nose to get messed up while I'm attaching the limbs!

ConnieB

Fantastic!  Perfect in every way!!!!

Hi all,
Thank you so much for your kind comments.  It does my heart good to see that other artists like my bears.  I am really hard on myself and for some reason, I tend to dislike just about everything I make.  But I DO like these bears - the cream one in particular.  So thank you again for feeding my ego!

aa.jpgHi all.  After months of rejects, I have a trio of new bears to show you.  As I posted earlier, I had some trouble with air-brushing so I hand-painted the details here.  These bears are a new dessign for me - both the head and the body style have been reworked until I was finally satisfied with the outcome.  They are all loosely jointed with double-jointed necks.  The small orange fellow is completely wobble-jointed.  He is a very floppy fellow.  His color was inspired by the lovely bear posted recently by Kim Russell of Russell Bears.  Thanks for looking!

OK, so I finally finshed a few bears that I like - after many months of rejects.  Now - I bought a new airbrush a couple months ago............  a rather expensive one.  I spent over $250.00 on the airbrush and a new compressor and other stuff and just tried to use it yesterday.  It is an IWATA.  supposed to be top of the line.  Anyway, I run cleaning fluid through it to get out all the little particles from the manufacturing like it said to do in the instruction manual.  Then I load my black/brown paint and try testing it.  Plop plop plop.  Drips and paint spatters all over the paper I am testing on.  And as soft as I try to be on the trigger, the paint is coming out very fast and heavy.  I am just having no luck with airbrushes lately.  I read in the manual that drips can be caused if the paint is too thin.  I am using Dye-na-flow.  Anyone have any ideas?  And how do you make paint thicker if that is indeed the problem here?

ConnieB

what a face!  outstanding!!!!

I had a listing pulled this week myself.  I have only sold a handful of items on eBay so I am nowhere near an expert.  Santa brought my 5-year old the V-Smile video game system with lots of games and extras.  Unfortunately his two olders brothers told him the games were "not cool" and were for babies.  So the system was played maybe twice or 3 times.  I packed it all up in a storage box and put it away.  This week I came across it and decided to try selling it.  So I used the words "like new" in the title cuz guess what?  IT'S LIKE NEW!  The next day I received an email from Ebay that they pulled my auction for some lame reason about spamming with those words "like new."  Luckily it turns out the credit card I had listed with ebay was expired so I don't think they were able to charge me for the listing.  So Ha Ha on them!

But there are policemen out there in eBayland doing evil things and I think that's a rotten occupation.  These people have nothing better to do than cause misery for other people because they are so miserable themselves!

ConnieB

Yep - incredibly annoying.............  and i love music.  just like to pick my own.  but music on photography websites is expected and usually soft and pleasant.........

and traily things are very distracting...........

ConnieB

Laddy is fabulous!  Love his cute little face!!!

ConnieB

Really cute!  Love the pink nose!!!!!

ConnieB

Hey Daphne,
Two that I am familiar with are Gail Wilson from New Hampshire, and Akira Blount, who does high-end art dolls.  Hope that helps you out!

ConnieB

"Shot through the heart,
And you're to blame.
You give love a bad name
Bad name.

BON JOVI!!!

ConnieB

I never have any trouble with my Bernina!

ConnieB

Yay!  Roxanne, that's right!  Stronger by Kanye West, and it IS a remix of Daft Punk's!  Your turn!!!

Tami, I can't really say I'm a fan of rap but there have been a few that I thought were catchy, like this one.  I also liked a lot of Eminem's stuff.  He's kinda disappeared tho.

ConnieB

Did I ruin the game?
I should have picked a more mainstream song, I think.  OK, here are a couple hints.  Its a rap song and if you watch "Ellen" her dj plays it on a regular basis.  Also, the singer got a lot of press for saying that George Bush hates black people at a Hurricane Katrina fundraiser.  Any ideas?

ConnieB

OK, but you're gonna be sorry I joined in on this game!

This "song" is requested by my boys, including my 4 yr-old, every time I get in the car.

"Since OJ had Isotoners
Don't act like I never told you
Never told you"

Hint - I had to be selective with the lyrics I picked............

ConnieB

"Bright Lights" by Matchbox Twenty!

ConnieB

Wow!  That is an amazing color!  Did you hand-dye that mohair?  Someone in New Zealand will be very happy to receive this stunning creation!

ConnieB

Thanks, Judi!  I knew you would have answers but I didn't want to bother you directly!!!

ConnieB

Well, I was a dog with a bone yesterday and I searched and searched the internet for "airbrush bubbling" and finally came up with an answer!  I didn't think it was a cleaning issue cuz I'm kinda anal about that kind of thing so I checked all my parts particularly the nozzle area under a magnifier for any types of cracks.  I didn't see any so I reassembled the thing using bees wax on the threads on the nozzle area.  Turned the thing on again and it worked!  Wasted a whole day on the dumb thing and I hardly use it anyway BUT!  The good thing about the episode is that I now know the workings of my airbrush inside out!  Thanks everyone for trying to help me!!!

ConnieB

Thanks to you both for your support!  What a frustrating afternoon!!!  OK, I think I put the airbrush back together properly.  There is bubbling in the paint reservoir.  I have changed the needle and the tip to brand new ones.  I have tried cleaning the apparatus as best as I can.  Does anyone have a clue what my major malfunction is?  Any advice is appreciated!
