Most of my bears are artist bears or bears that I made myself, mainly because where we lived for a lot of the time when I was growing up there was a huge fair twice a year. I saved up my pocket money and birthday/Christmas money and bought myelf one every time. I've also received bears from my parents for Christmas and birthdays, and they tended to be artist bears too. I do have some commercial bears, mostly commemorating something, be it a trip I've made, or an event I've attended, and I don't have a clue what their provenance is, sorry! I also have some Merrythought bears as it was Telford that we lived in all those years, home of the Merrythought factory.
Well I ordered the fur, and I ordered the joints, but I forgot to order the paw pad material and eyes :doh: (I was rather sleep deprived at the time!) So now I've ordered them and hopefully will have a complete bear shortly!
We'll think of it as a learning and growing experience for him

Funnily enough I've just carried out surgery today on the bear I mentioned in the post above. Had to open him up again, empty his stuffing, re-attach the head and stuff and finish him again. I'm not sure I'd trust a safety joint again, so I think the next one I make for a child will be string jointed!
